Keep Binoculars in 1.0

I have been talking with other players and almost everyone agrees binoculars should be kept in 1.0. The reason why is that monitor resolution is not like human eye sight and so at long range its just frustrating to tell friend from foe. With the minimods that do not have binos for standard kits this is a problem already. I know that the goal of PR is reality and that in reality not every soldier has a set of binos, however also in reality you can see clearly and not in pixel form for hundreds of meters. Please reconsider removing the binos it is one of the most used items in the game.

From what I understand, the primary reason for this (or at least one of them) is to promote teamwork so that players will be more dependent on a squad leader with an Officer kit (which still has the GTLD).

I'm personally all for this, even if I'll be a bit sad to see the binoculars go.

What resolution do you play with? Also not all factions will see theirs binos being removed. For exemple the insurgents might keep them while the Blufor have scopes most of the time.

Binocs will be removed from almost all kits. This counts for conventional armies. Insurgents and the likes will stay as they are. You'll enjoy this change once you've played v1.0.

This subject isn't up for debate, so I'm closing this thread now.



Edit: and regarding the minimods, have you even played them? Pretty much 95% of the players LOVE it.
