I have read countless threads regarding the famous black flickering spots.
Ati 4870
This here is the latest process I have done
1. Reverted back to 11.3 (last known "working" drivers)
2. Deleted cache
3. Then I made sure the catalyst AI is on standard
4. disabled any anti aliasing in CCC
5. launched PR
6. made sure everything was highest and 4x anti aliasing on.
7. loaded a map
8. everything works! AA enabled, no spots, all good!
9. Disconnected, went to eat dinner (game in main menu)
10. came back, joined multiplayer server
11. No AA, invisible ground textures (ive seen it before)
12. alt tabbed out, disabled catalyst AI and set AA to 4x from CC
13. back in game, now AA is enabled evertyhing is smooth and good, BUT the flickering black spots appear now!
14. alt tab again out, set catalyst to standard
15. back in game - NO AA, invisible ground textures (AA in CC was still enabled by the way)
Guess no PR for me
I guess setting terrain to low would work but it makes me sad that I have to have a setting turned low.
Fuck ATI and their drivers

Re: NEW additional problem in regards to black spots
FIXED!
I fixed it by right clicking the "pr.exe" and select "properties" and then click the "compatability" tab and there CHECK ! 1) Disable Visual Themes 2)Disable desktop composition
RUN IT from pr.exe ! I DONT KNOW FOR SURE IF SHORTCUTS WILL WORK.
also!
Have 11.3 ati driver!
Catalyst AI set to STANDARD
AA SELECT FROM INGAME OPTIONS
NO FORCING AA IN YOUR CC

Can mod please edit the title with FIXED or SOLVED, so future people can fix it themselves too?

direct x9 games generally are helped by disabling visual themes in Vista and Win7 and Server variants.
