Problem with my own sound mod (weapon wont auto fire)

Ok, so basicly, couple of friends and me modded bf2, not major mod just a few tweaks, and since i have some experience in audio production i made some weapon sounds which to me at least, sound somewhat good.
Now, i started from about 7 different samples (free samples) i found online, for an AK47 sound, i managed to create the sound, export to .wav, found where to put it in the minimod and it works. BUT, weapon sound is being quieter than the environment, it sounds ok but you would expect it to be louder, (Test map : course of the river), which i kind of fixed by compressing and limiting it but then increasing volume which kind of makes it sound worse but i had to do it. :confused:

Anyway that's not the main problem, the problem is that i can fire weapon normally, whenever i click it fires single no problem, but when i click and hold, instead of firing full auto, only the first shot is heard and the rest are non existant :evil: . This is annoying and i ask anyone that can possibly help, to help! :D :o ops:

Did you change weapon tweak files? This files are probably problems, since you probably change sound and doesn't change it settings. I think you should check if it works properly when you have sound with the same length. Also you can change volume of sound using ObjectTemplate.volume 1

Where do i find this and how do i go about it? Where do i find the file? sorry im a BIT new, i do mapping in the editor as well but nothing serious...Can you or someone please explain?

Tweak files for weapons are localized in Objects_server/Weapons and then the name of weapon. In case of PR they are localized in Objects/Weapons_server Weapons_server_patch1 and Weapons_server_patch2. Start checking from patch2 zip, then patch1, because if they are the same files in all those zips, the ones from patch2 are loaded. Just open it with notepad and try different values(make backup first).

Hmmm that did make sense and i managed to get in and change some stuff i didnt know before thanks, but i got another problem, i think i am on track of the problem, basicly, after i exported my sound i opened up a new project to get in and see the waveform, so i imported the sound i wanted to change and my own. Here on this pic you will see them , the upper one is the default sound of the AK47 from PR0.5 (yes there are small groups of people still playing it), and below that is my sound waveform. What i dont understand are those blue lines the red arrows are pointing out, they are on EVERY battlefield 2 sound, vanilla or not. Now i have a theory that those may be some kind of loop regions bs and that the game reads them for full auto but that would be complete nonesence as there are way simpler ways of handling full auto fire than that.

Whats the problem?

I don't know, maybe somebody working on sounds like Anders could help you with. I think that you should try to create this lines, because form what I see they are placed right after the shoot.

I tried contacting anders a couple of times, mostly on PRTA, but he never responded so eventually i gave up. If he or anyone else that can help sees this, please respond. As for the lines i am not sure exactly how to create them. Thanks for your response.

Confirmed, your sound isn't working properly in full auto because it has no loop regions. As for how to add them, you'll have to look that up for yourself unless you use Sony Sound Forge like I do. In any case, here's the fixed file: ak47_fire_1p_outdoor.wav

YES! THAT WAS IT! Thank you soooo much! Saved me there, as for the sound forge yeah i had it but i never used it , took me about 20 minutes to figure out the loop stuff now i can actually get to work :D Thanks once again. :-D
