Do what Daniel said, also, if you can play on high with a good fps, when you want to record reduce the settings just a little so you don't lag while recording.

Wrong! PR is is not that heavy on graphic cards. What you need is a better CPU. You can actually run PR with the same graphic cards that you can run BF2 with, it's just that there are alot more high detailed objects that the CPU needs to renderer than in vanilla BF2. Especially with the big view distances on PR maps.Daniel wrote:LOL wow, 1st of all, u URGENT need a new graphics card (22 fps won't let you win face to face battles)... I strongly recommend NVidia.

People need to stop rumoring that a better GPU is going to solve their frame rate issues in PR. The game needs a decent CPU not necessarily a better GPU.

I can vouch for this. When I went from my Nvidia GTX 460 to 560 I didn't really notice anything. It wad only until I went from a duel core to a quad when I could get everything on high. But that doesn't mean a new gpu won't hurt if yours is agingSgt. Mahi wrote:Wrong! PR is is not that heavy on graphic cards. What you need is a better CPU. I do not need a new CPU. The one I am using, Phenom II X4 965 BE clocked at 3.1 GHZ at the moment is fairly enough for me.
The GPU on the otherhand, MSI GeForce GTX 460 (Fermi) 768MB, is what needs to be upgraded. To record, I use MSI afterburner. When I use that, My framerates drop dramatically. On a normal day without recording, I get 60 to 90 FPS.
In order to get a new GPU, I need to upgrade my 500w PSU to a higher wattage, also I might as well get 4GB of RAM to get 8GB overall, and finally a HDD to save recorded files on a separate drive to save memory.
This is just a hobby I rarely do. I do not have the money to upgrade.
But I appreciate your advice. And I will try to lower my graphics next time when I record.

I run a 4890HD at 1920x1200, and the only difference I noticed after upgrading from a 3850HD was that looking at Kokan grass through Binos didn't make the game choppy.
(3.4Ghz E8500 dual core CPU btw).
Does BF2 use all 4 cores on the 4 core CPU's?

bf2 only run on one core but newer cpus seem to handle pr nettet. I would guess it has something to do with bandwithMikemonster wrote:I run a 4890HD at 1920x1200, and the only difference I noticed after upgrading from a 3850HD was that looking at Kokan grass through Binos didn't make the game choppy.
