it isnt a problem. If the APC behaves in an incredibly predictable manner, then it is incredibly easy to counter.

I know exactly which cache, and bridge mike refers to. Put ONE mine at the base of the bridge where the apc goes up, and then knock out a section of the bridge, and this has you covered completely. Takes 1 man with an arty ied kit to accomplish that in a minute, or 2 men with sapper and an rpg.

The caches easily killed by armour are a problem when they can do it from a huge amount of positions, from long distances, not when its one spot.

This is just a general thing. Regarding the types of buildings you can find on ramiel on the NW side of the map Around A3 I think if a cache spawns in any of these types of buildings you can destroy them by using the kiowas MG to shoot it through the roof. (not many people seem to know about this though). There were a few more in .97 that where too easy to destroy from the air but I didnt record their positions I just swooped down and killed them. 4 or 5 caches where lost that round due to the kiowa...

Hey Rudd didn't you say that you fixed the cache that spawns behind the static tank husk down the road from VCP on Al Basrah? Because a week or two ago I was playing on ]CIA[ and it spawned.

its because not all maps were updated by 0.98 for technical reasons

you will have to wait for 1.0

Al Basra might need a little more work then you suspect Rudd. Last night we ran 2 scimitars and got 5/7 caches with our vehicles. This isn't all that common but I realize it made the round very frustrating to insurgents and I wish there was a way the Brits could be forced to rely more upon their infantry, atm IFV/APCs can carry the team to victory while most INF guys wander around aimlessly.

Perhaps a basrah feedback thread regarding Brit assets would be a good idea? Lets try and keep this thread on topic, otherwise it gets hard to see the reports

I think he is more reporting that there are a lot of caches that can be easily killed by armour. The armour doesn't even have to rush in, or expose themselves a lot. Basrah with the SPG techie is actually pretty good balance wise, its just a bad cache can be undefendable.

Yesterday we played the map Operation Archer.

2 LAV made the Canadian win..
All our Caches spawned in the open fields, there was NO way we could defend it.
And not a single enemy inf spotted.

Most maps like Kokan or Laskhar you can put up a even fight.
But maps like Archer, Al basrah. The only thing you need are lazy crew man sitting on a good spot and have a KD 50 - 0 ( and even thinking that the are awesome )

Same as Korengal, sitting in a Crow humvee at there main. and only the gun is exposed over the wall,
and gets a KD of over 9000 - 0

All caches getting known and round is over.

The assets are not really out of place on the map and IMO they are not the issue, hastily placed caches without much thought to HE splash damage is at the core of the problem. Making a thread about bad caches seems somewhat redundant, removing armor is not the solution in my eyes.

I repeat (for the final time I might add...) that this thread is to report specific caches that are fubar/broken/undefendable/unattackable.

Want to discuss Asset layouts, HE in insurgency or whatever you will do it in another thread. Doing so makes mapper's lives easier, and easier to discuss other issues themselves by not muddying this thread.

That is all.

But there are a lot of caches on roofs in Kokan. Anyway, I totally agree - there should be NO roof caches in Kokan due to LB's. If no LB's - please. But moratrs and LB's can rape the shit out of everything that's on roof now.

Map: Al Basrah Alt
Problem: Can't be defended, Scimis can easily kill it from afar.
Cache location: C7KP9, outside the small hut, S-W corner I think (sorry was too slow to make a screen, I got blown up right after spawning there).

To a lesser degree, the same applies to the whole C/D 8 village area.

Similarly, Fallujah has a metric ton of cache locations inside T-buildings that can easily be killed from a safe distance with HE shells from LAVs/Bradleys. Caches inside T-buildings should always be inside rooms without windows (i.e. the bathroom) imho.

I want to confirm this, I raped 25 guys on that cache with an AR from the village main building due to the bad spawn. You can see it from miles away and it will turn out in a turkey shoot.
We are staying up!

MAP: Black Gold

Problem: Impossible to defend

Cache location: see attachment

There is nowhere to hide, buildings are not enterable, therefore BLUFOR can easily wipe out all defenders by using Area attack, Jets, Attack Helicopters and APCs.
