Hi everyone,
I played this game a lot for like 3 years ago. Now I'm thinking about giving it a new try. Any suggestions in new stuff that I should look into or generally some hints that would smooth the transitition between then and now?

Re: Coming back
Welcome back
3 years back that means the you have been playing 0.87 or maybe 0.9.
Some of the things that are new to you would be for example the mortars which are not too complicated to use.
Don't be afraid of black-screens while being on the mortars. You wont die, you just don't have any opportunity to adjust your fire effectively.
Furthermore you will notice as a medic that you cant heal yourself with the medic-bag, but that's not a big problem since you have more field-dressings.
And don't forget to enjoy all the mini-mods like Falklands, Normandy and Vietnam that are now part of the map-rotations

- A squadleader calls for a temporary firemission with his binoculars
- you jump onto the mortar and press 4
- you press capslock to confirm the squad-marker is placed on the desired target and note the range to it at the bottom right.
- correct the "RANGE" by left+1-1right clicking the numbers, and press CALCULATE (Height is less important but if you know the map well you can guess it and your first shot will be little more accurate.
- The "ANGLE" result has to be matched with the "Barrel Elevation" by using W˄˅S
- Then Align with your compass to the target using A<>D
- Finally select weapon type 1-2 or 3 (1 is good against destroy-able objects and vehicles, 2 is good against infantry since it has a larger splash dmg radius, and 3 is just smoke that eats a lot of ammo)
- You rearm with the Rifleman kit by dropping an ammo bag anywhere within 10m radius... yes I said 10 meters you don't have to throw it into the mortar pit.

Re: Coming back
Also back after about a year and a half off since moving abroad. The mumble improvements are the biggest factor, just dont forget to start it as admin as that had me scratching my head for a while.
