Hello, I have been looking through the forums and I notice that several people have some problems with CTD on joining servers. However I couldn't find anything matching my unique problem.
I can join an internet server just fine, but if I try to join a Local Area Network co-op the game instantly ctds with no error message as soon as the map finishes loading - if there is someone else in the map.
I tested this by hosting a LAN server with my other computer and then joining it with my first computer. The first computer will do a CTD as soon it is done loading. Or (if the host computer is not yet through loading because the other computer was faster) my joining computer will CTD as soon as someone else enters the game.
I'm running on Windows 7 32bit

Hello Woodenplank,
welcome to the PR community forums,
I have so little experience with BF2 LAN networking I am going to let others give you advice,
I'm sure we've seen this problem in the past and there is a known solution, I just don't remember were I read it. I'm sure someone will be along to help you out,

Re: CTD on LAN Co-op
Ok new developments, the two PCs simply can't be on a server at the same time, no matter what server the other one is on, only one PC can play at a time.
I tested joining servers in vanilla BF2 and the computers can play at the same time without problems, but in Project Reality one will disconnect the other, no matter the server.
Please help

Does each machine have a unique CDKey?
You can not have two PCs connected and authenticated on the Gamespy GUID auth server using the same CDKey simultaneously.
Try connecting online to the VBIOS clan's PR server, they have auth turned off usually.

Re: CTD on LAN Co-op
I have plenty of CD keys for BF2, and I'm pretty sure that the machines have different ones, seeing as they are both able to play vanilla BF2 online at the same time (which requires a unique CD key I think) and also, the PR application crashes even on local servers. LAN connections usually don't require multiple CD keys, atleast not in Battlefield.

Re: CTD on LAN Co-op
Reinstalled everything (Vanilla, PR, patches) a couple of times, works now.
