[HELP] Uninstall PR, no uninstall files
Hey for some reason I can't play PR online anymore, it tells me my cd-key is invalid. And up until this point for about 1 year I always got tons of MD5 tools mismatch errors so now for the 5th time I will have to reinstall BF2...The problem is I don't see any PR uninstall files in my BF2 folder. There were always 3 uninstall files in that folder but now there were no files, is this something new ?
And one more question, when deleting BF2, is it better to just simply delete the Bf2 folder or should i use the bf2 uninstall file in the folder?
In this guide they say i should just delete the folder, but i always thought deleteing folders like that was not a good thing and it would always leave other small files related to the games in other places of the computer

EDIT: Ok that was a uninstall Icon it turns out, but I still don't know if deleteing folder like that is a good thing?

Re: [HELP] Uninstall PR, no uninstall files
PR uninstall files have moved to mods/pr/uninst. However, It's a lot easier just to go into Add/Remove Programs (XP) or Programs and Features (Vista or greater) and find "Project Reality: BF2" in the list.
That guide is for "manually" uninstalling BF2. You should always use the provided uninstaller first. But if for whatever reason that doesn't work, there's the manual option as the fallback.

Alright, well I just delted all folder related to Bf2 i could find, I didn't find "Right-click the key named {A8DBF55D-73C0-4E37-A10E-365BFBB14119} and select Delete." In the regedit, which seems kinda strange:S[R-DEV]AncientMan wrote:PR uninstall files have moved to mods/pr/uninst. I hope it works this way, Since this is about the 5th-6th time I have to reinstall the game I got a hunch it always leaves files which later disturbs the game somehow...
EDIT: For instance after deleting everything and restarting computer i now notice i still got this left in my start menu...
It feels so pointless uninstalling the game when I'm not 100 % sure everything is gone...And I can't even delte those files manually since it can not find the location becasue I deleted the user folder before....

Re: [HELP] Uninstall PR, no uninstall files
Another question; I now see I spilled coffee into my cd-player on the computer and it doesn't work properly, it makes all kind of noises after inserting the cd.
I can choose language on the install but when it tries to install it and the install-loading-bar appears it exits with this message:

So my question is if i can copy everything on the CD into my computer and then run the setup file in the folder?
EDIT: nvm I will just buy a new cd player or computer...

You could just download the battlefiled 2 iso image and install it, if you own it I think that is lagal. At least in Norway. It will spare you the unnecesary expense of a new CD reader.Mrslobodan wrote:...

Or just buy "Battlefield 2 complete collection" at Origin for 9,99 Euros.
This is cheaper than a DVD drive and you get it as downloadable version, fully patched to the lastest version.

If the CD version is the "complete collection" you can use the EA-costumer support and request the transition from hard copy to digital.TeRR0R wrote:Or just buy "Battlefield 2 complete collection" at Origin for 9,99 Euros.

Dont question the wikipedia! Just because it reports different things on different languages does not make it unreliable source!

If anybody could just tell me this, since I put in the CD and I managed to start the installation and I could see all files inside the CD, It doesn't really have to be the cd-driver right ?
Before trying to install It, I deleted in the registry: Electronic Arts folder, EA Games Folder And all BF2 related folder in wownod folder, does anybody know if this can be the problem ?

Are you sure I will get it patched and ready to go ?
