If some of the larger PR YouTube channels (Phlupple, Slorgs, Bluedrake42 etc.) would be able to send in videos for channels like PixelEnemy, we would probably be able to get quite a good amount of new players, if they make the video right.

Probably have them record mission in which we decided beforehand who would be in their squad just to make sure that people watching get a good PR experience instead of a bunch of idiots/ AWOLs.

Yes because selling something that 99% of the players are not able to do is a good idea. People see a squad full of Phlupple, think all the players are like that and come play. Pow right in the kisser, most players are idiots who dont have a clue what they're doing.

If everyone in your squad is on mumble and understand what you're saying, thats already very good, and imo thats what you need to show to people. Sure you can show a squad of ODS, SRF, sN1 or whatever, but the only ones capable of playing like that are exactly those guys, not the general public, which is what you should sell.

wait, wait, I've got an idea. why not make 1.0 invite only? , of course the players are chosen by you 2 guys only awesome expertise, and then just tease the "general public" that don't really deserve to play the mod with badly edited videos?

Idk about that, then new players might have a harder time getting in. We want joining to be as easy as possible. Maybe if they made it so you had to have a mic plugged in to join a game it'd work better, but I don't know if they'd be able to make that happen. I'm not a modder.

For PR 1.0 we need one passworded teamwork server in case teamwork gets below standards. Make sure you can find the password on the site and I am sure you will get better players in the server.

No. For PR 1.0 we need every server to do the best to keep up the highest standard of teamwork possible, as I said before. Having passworded teamwork-servers is not useful, because in that case, new players only experience the "bad" servers because if you just want to try out a game, searching for a password and reading tons of rules is just too much effort and will scare people away.

The harder everyone of us tries to give new players a great experience, the greater the player numbers will be on the long term. Of what use is a higher playercount if it lasts for a few weeks only? The goal must be to create a sustainable rise in player numbers, and this is only achieved in the way I described.

We are a niche gaming community, appealing to the masses like people have been suggesting isn't going to do us any favors. The best way to go about this in my opinion is find other niche communities, that are similar or just like us in what they enjoy and introduce them to PR.

There is nothing wrong with YouTube videos as they will bring in a few people that are looking for that kind of thing. However, standard public rounds don't tend to have the same level of gameplay than an organized event. Regardless of the server. So be mindful of what you upload.

The best we can do is get the old people back. The TG regulars, the iGi regulars, the T&T regulars. Anyone you're still in contact with, make them give 1.0 a shot. That'll be best for gameplay.

I posted a comment on TotalBiscuit's video about 3 weeks ago telling him to try out PR. He hasn't replied yet (obviously), but if he saw it and is maybe interested, he might make a "WTF is..." (since he makes like 4-6 of those a week anyways) after 1.0
But I dunno, too many 'maybes' and mights'

Lets just write under every video of famous youtubers, when 1.0 comes out, to check it out.
If one of these guys would make a good review about the game, i bet there will be lots of newbies coming to the mod.

If thats a good thing or not is personal opinion.

I've been getting shit tons of new players playing with me who watch my youtube channel, I would say youtube gameplay is by far the most effective means of spreading the word, but thats just me

If anyone would get out a 1.0 video that includes a new map or faction very quick it will be viewed alot.
