640x480 ?

Is there a way to play BF2/PR at a resolution of 640x480 ? The power supply on my desktop PC died and I'm stuck with a shitty laptop. I can play BF2 fine on all minimum and 800x600, although with slight FPS drop when there's lot of action on the screen.

I've installed PR on this laptop and I discovered that... Well... I can count my FPS on the fingers of my hands

If I drop the draw distance to 50%, it works fine, but there's not much point of playing PR with 50% draw distance lol

So yeah, I'm just wondering if there's a way to lower the graphics so I can play PR again !

I don't believe Bf2 supports 640x480 resolution.

Well... I don't care if the interface is a little messed up by forcing 640x480, I just want to play PR

Try adding +szx 640 +szy 480 to command line. It can fuck up interface, but should work.

Well... It only affects the writings. The interface and the game in general stays in 800x600

I tried antoher game. I'm really stuck with 50% view distance and on maps with a lot of scenery and objects, I'm gettin' 10 or less FPS lol

You could try clean reinstall on your laptop, I used to run PR in 800x600 with 60 fps, now I run on 1024x768 with 75fps and almost everything on medium.

Thanks for the advice, but I have no hope of getting much more FPS. Can't do much with 64Mb of VRAM and Intel Core 2 Duo @ 1.6 GHz. Only my RAM is somewhat good lol

just curious but what video card do u have exactly? Have you tried looking up video-card specific tweaks in like the control panel?

Also, I know its not a great thing to say but as awesome as PR is, its not worth it to play like that. I was in the same situation when CS:Source came out and i was playing it at like <10fps with graphics that looked worse than cs1.6. It sucked and it kindof made me think that the game wasn't fun. Hope it won't happen to you

Dude, for my entire life, I've never had better than a dual-core, DDR2 RAM, and 512Mb of VRAM. This laptop have an Intel integrated family shitset with 64Mb of VRAM.

Also, for my entire life, I've played all my games on ultra-low and when Modern Warfare 2 came out, I had 12 FPS constant with it and still, I managed to have a whole bunch of nukes and I was nearly always on top of the scoreboard

So yeah, if I can play PR in 640x480 in ultra-low, I wont mind it because it's the only type of gaming that I know
