"Disconnected from Server" - No one is Fixing This

Post by Bluedrake42 »

Probably the most widespread and unfixed bug BF2 & PR has
I'm tired of upping threads where no one answers.
I can't play PR, I've done everything in my power to troubleshoot this.
I am practically barred from playing until this is fixed.
Someone... anyone. Please help. There has to be a way.

it appears to be a punkbuster problem

have you tried this

https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr ... 003-a.html

I assume you have you and all the fixes in this thread and none of them worked
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr ... error.html

have you ran an error report using the console?

I need to run an error report definitely
So far this is what I've done

Updated Punkbuster
Restarted Router
Restarted Adapter
Bought a new Router
Bought a new Adapter
Reinstalled PR
Reinstalled Battlefield 2
Reinstalled Windows
Reinstalled on a new Computer
Disabled Firewalls

And I could go on...
But I forget a lot of the things I've done
I've submitted a ticket to punkbuster
But I'm not expecting a response any time soon

It's a big pain, but if you wanna test if your it's something related to your PC or internet connection, take your box over to a friends' house who can/does play PR without the issue and hook yours up to his monitor and see if you can play there. If you can, it's a connection issue @ your house, if you can't (but he can) it's therefore something on your computer interfering with it.

Once you have definitively identified the source you'll be able to take more targeted troubleshooting.

Edit: By the way - What were you old & new routers?

I think hundreds of people have submitted tickets. Punkbuster just totally fucked up on this one. Only they can fix it. Or we disable punkbuster. Each day I'm liking the second idea more and more.

we really should all submit tickets
how bad would the hacking get if we removed punkbuster?
TBH I'm just going to have to wait until I can get my computer back to a wired connection

No I'm going to try it, but I don't really know how to fix it if it IS my house
Especially since this used to happen at my apartment too

I'll probably take it over to my buddy's place this weekend.

Basically you want to determine if the issue lies at the purple, green or red intermediates. I'm guessing it's green since it's been the same across two apartments & an OS reinstall.

I have submitted and followed 2 tickets.

The first one had an update that they were trying to reproduce the issue(the 1st join disconnect) After a few weeks of not updates I tried to check it and it was closed.

I reopened a ticket to inquire on the status, bumped it every couple of days and finally got a response after a couple of weeks. Said something like: " no updates at this time." and closed.

kinda like asking about pr2. lol
Best line yet...
Me: "Hey APC, Can I get a ride to squad 6?"
Unknown: "This APC ain't no Taxi!"
