dx 11??

Post by Psyko »

Hey man.

I just discovered, my dxdiag says my current version of direct x is dx 11, but Civ5 and crysis 3 didnt run in 11 for me. Crysis 3 wouldnt run at all!

when I get the splash screen for civ 5 and it asks me what version i want to boot the game up in direct x 11 is greyed out. but its funny, now that i think about it, i could have sworn i was able to play it in dx 11 way back with the same graphics card, i remember because in dx9 you get red blotches on the landscape and in 11 you dont. It definitely did run dx 11 at least for a while.

(I have been trying to solve a problem with steam support and Bohemia about how my A2 :O A wont install or run, and come to think of it, this problem with dx began around the same time my OA started giving me trouble, so maybe if i solve this it will solve a bunch of things.)

So could somebody help walk me through telling my dumb-*** graphics card that its actually somewhat of a mustang and not peewee herman?

Okay, so how was I able to run Civ 5 in dx 11 mode?

Magic and fairies? I dunno... but it only has compliance for DX10. That's all I know.

Magic and Fairies where I come from mean two very different things. But I think you for the wiki link. Is there any way I can cheat Crysis 3 to make it run for me? :(

dam crytec, pushing software limits so graphics card manufacturers make money.
