-=anders=-;1864962']How do you mean exactly? Do you mean while sitting in a vehicle? I depends if you were referring to that. We try to aim for some kind of realism here so making a vehicle sound 50% less sound pretty weird to me.

What mike was suggesting was to lower only engine sound and be able to listen to the surroundings easier I think. I agree with Anders that lowering the sound only on engine would not be realistic at all.
I guess what your referring to is to make it quieter and simulate that your wearing ear protection so its easier to communicate with people on mumble without the need to turn down effect sounds so much. I think some Apc's are very loud from the driver seat, but most tanks have a good level of noise.
Outside, stuff makes noise... either turn off the car or do comms inside.
I meant due to Mumble not automatically lowering the in-game volume when comms come through if you play the game with the engine sounds ('Effects' tab?) set quite high so it's realistic, you can't hear the person talking.
It's my understanding that people that use assets a lot turn the volume of PR down and the volume of mumble up. I play infantry and if I'm driving a logi truck I can't tell wtf anyone on Mumble is saying to me.
The Brit Logi and the Canadian (mercedes) jeep are the worst offenders.
Although it has just occurred to me that I should turn my game volume to 50% and my mumble volume to 100%.. Rather than both at 100.
It is annoying though. Our ears adapt in 'reality' well enough to hear quiet sounds when it's quiet, and to filter out specific tones when it's loud (talking in a night-club for instance). I can't see how it's a big deal to reduce the volume of vehicle noises if you're in them. A brit logi is louder than a tank ffs!
