Holy explosion of news.

In there, it says that PR2 will be free... Weren't the PR2 DEV's suppose to make some money of of this game? Are they going to implement the typical F2P monetorization scheme (camos, etc)?

I am sorry that I -unlike you- can't check everything on the forum 24/7.

I remember hearing that the CryEngine 3 thing was a rumor, but if it isn't...."Currently the Project Reality 2 team are on their way to releasing an internal alpha test prototype in March 2013."

Well, time to become a DEV :P

Still, after having participated in 200 player events, it's still somewhat of a slap in the face :p

A limit that was never supposed to be passed? You think it's a slap in the face because the unpassable limit wasn't passed by enough? That's pretty low, I'd just go and congratulate the DEV team on their excellent work in doing what most said was impossible. 200 players made all servers very unstable, if you will remember back to those 200 player events, there was RARELY a round that finished without crashing mid game.

Well hopefully they've improved it over the last year-and-a-half-or-so.

From what I recall, the instability was hardly related to the amount of players (if you had the server for it), crashes with 100 players occurred just as much as with 150 or more players (they were related to the code, not by an overload due to the amout of ppl. This might have changed, since I have no idea what Bloody did with "his" code). The thing that annoys me, is that the DEVs stated they won't allow numbers above 100, not even for special events.

I agree that having more than 140~ would have been impracticable on public servers, however, saying the limit they set in place is not to be trespassed at any cost, is short sighted. 64+ offers something hardly any other game does, something almost "unique" to PR/BF2, something that could keep the mod strong going for the future. They simply limit it and possible deny the success of further releases. It's like someone offers you a good glass of water when you are thirsty and you just drink half of it because of some personal issues.

Not complaining about the limit per se, I'm rater pissed off on how they refuse to seize the chance and keep the mod interesting through things other games don't, or hardly offer. That being events with 200, or so players.

I can say from personal experience that hardly anything topples a 200 player event.
