Your connection has been lost

Post by GummyGum173 »

Hi.
I'm trying to connect to a random server, the music fades out, yet I stay in the same (server browser) menu, after a while, I get a "Your connection has been lost" error, and then my mouse just disappears.
I've played BF2PR on the machine earlier, and everything was fine (I uninstalled it, and after a year, reinstalled).
I'm running the latest BF2 1.5 patch, and PR 0.981.
Here are my specs:
GTX560
Intel I5
8gigs of ram.
Win7 Ultimate.

Please help me asap :(

I'm not sure if it's possible to link to search-queries, but have a look through these threads if the link works:

Thanks.

BTW you can't...

Anyway, I googled and searched a bit, tried to replace PB files with old ones, deleting the documents, reinstalling PB, nothing...

There are 2 'connection to server lost' problems that are plaguing the community that I am aware of.

One is the first time you join a server you get the message and have to join again, all works fine the 2nd time.
--This one is caused by the latest update to Punkbuster, and will probably not be fixed by PB, but I think Psyrus found a solution.. https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr ... ction.html

Other is a random kick while playing in a server, can cause many players to disconnect across more than one server. you will just disconnect with 'connection to server lost'
--This one is believed by most to also be a Punkbuster issue, but there is no fix or workaround that I have seen.

neither is game breaking, but the 2nd used to cause me to quit for the night. I have not had the 2nd problem in a long time.. <<knocks on wood;
Best line yet...
Me: "Hey APC, Can I get a ride to squad 6?"
Unknown: "This APC ain't no Taxi!"
