Hey, first of all, no, this is not another "when 1.0 is gonna come out!?!?!?!" thread.
I don't know if this was discussed before, and if it was, it seems like it obviously didn't get too much attention...
I'm just going to speak it out right away.
The wait for 1.0 is killing me. The videos posted recently satiated me a bit, but i would really appreciate it if some Dev could spend a few minutes to tell the community that for example:
- "anders needs some more time to work on the soundfiles"
- "this and that animation has not been implemented yet"
- "112 bugs still have to be killed"
- "PR:Normandy Devs are not ready yet and we want to release a full package again"
etc...
I know that you can't tell us the date for sure because of those many many variables, but if you could basically just inform us about these variables, we could get an idea of when it could be released.
Companies like EA don't let their studios inform the community about the development progress, but since you dont have any publisher that has you chained up, i dont know why you would hold on to that "tactic".
pr til i die.
cheers
Development progress.

Re: Development progress.
Consider that spending so much time replying to questions takes the DEV's away from doing the work that we all get to enjoy on release for free. They have limited time (school, work) and don't have the resources near what EA has. From my perspective, if you are following threads, they have been very good about letting us know where things are.carmikaze wrote:Hey, first of all, no, this is not another "when 1.0 is gonna come out!?!?!?!" thread.

Re: Development progress.
Bottom line is the variables are variable - some may take minutes to fix, others weeks... Giving a list of what they are may give false expectations about when the update will be ready.
Closed. I think the guys are doing a well enough job of giving us snippets of what's coming - don't want to open all our presents before Christmas day
