My brother got back to PR recently and is playing some COOP to get to know the game again. He's suffering from punkbuster ****. Every x minutes he gets kicked off a game with the message "time out trying to update PB client".
He updated his PB a couple of times already.
BF2.exe, PR.exe, PnkBstrA.exe, PnkBstrB.exe are all running as administrator.
What else can he do to get rid of this annoying bug?
Thanks.

Re: Time out trying to update PB client
type pb_sleep 500 in the console
disable the firewall / antivirus and any other unnecessay background tasks
Is his connection to the router wireless btw?

Re: Time out trying to update PB client
No, he's wired directly to the router.
I'll tell him to disable AV and Firewall, see if that helps anything.

Re: Time out trying to update PB client
"type pb_sleep 500 in the console"
this is to switch to 500 milliseconds, i.e. 5 seconds, this may or may not work.
Likely AV/firewall,
If punkbstra or punkbstrb are terminating unexpectedly, you can install bitsum process lasso (32 or 64 bit depednding on OS), and toggle the switch to 'turn on immediately upon termination"
