Re: Tactical Gamer Project Reality - Open for business
I had a blast, I played on TG before but never on the 'password teamwork nights', some of the best PR I've ever had. I don't have much time to play anymore these days, but I will try to be there again for the next rounds.
By the way: is there a specific reason that the server initially won't open during weeknights? I think there might be quite a demand for it.

I joined on Fools road and despite the lag the server was great, havent had teamwork like that in a long time. Personally i dont think fools was a good map because its a bit biased towards the Brits and Militia usually gets raped, which exactly what happened.
Burning sands was awesome, that layer is not played often and it was good to play it with teamwork minded players.
Hope you get the lag issue fixed though.

Re: Tactical Gamer Project Reality - Open for business
It's a shame the server is unplayable from AUS/NZ.. I assume the servers are on the east coast, and thus we ping 280+ to them.
The ping limit i assume is 250.
It would be great if the servers moved to closer to the west coast.. but i don't see that happening.
And here i was hoping for some quality PR outside of Australian servers.
EDIT: To clarify, pinging from Sydney, I get ~170 ping to west coast servers, ~215 to Midwest servers, ~280+ to East coast
We could also play on TG before the server was brought down, but no longer..

No, the ping limit will be removed. All will be able to play on the server. It was accidentally enabled for this night only.YAK-R wrote:It's a shame the server is unplayable from AUS/NZ.. I assume the servers are on the east coast, and thus we ping 280+ to them.

The ping kick was accidentally on, that and a few other issues that we noticed will be fixed for the next time the server is online, sorry to those who's rounds got ruined by it today.

Re: Tactical Gamer Project Reality - Open for business
A BIG THANK YOU TO THE PR COMMUNITY!!
Thanks to everyone who came out and played with us today, and especially for handling all of the little hiccups we had in our first day back.
Today was kind of a live beta test, and as with all betas, we found a few problems. The ping kick never should have been on, our supporting member script wasn't working (although for some people this might have been a good thing), we got a DDOS attack although the server handled it by not crashing, and a few other issues. We will get all of those resolved before our next event.
Thanks to OD-S for bringing out 20 members to join us today and splitting themselves evenly on both teams. They helped bring some organization to the games from the start. Thank you L4gi and everyone else!
We will be running weekend events until 1.0 hits and then we will re-evaluate how often we leave the server up. In the meantime, we encourage everyone to check out our forums and participate in the planning for the next several weekends. Map suggestions, theme nights, etc. are all up for discussion, so let us hear your ideas.
Again, thank you to everyone who came out and played PR the way it is supposed to be played!

My god that event was awesome. I joined in on the end of fools and played to the end. Fell apart badly on Qwai (china got raped) but all in all great time despite hiccups and that awful ddos lag. Thanks to the admin team and hope to see you all next weekend

I was there, too, and slowly the old feeling of teamwork glory is coming back. It was a great evening although I stayed only shortly because of the network hickups.
