So after installing bf2 and Pr and playing just fine i leave it a while, when coming back it CTD on the EA screen, i reinstall everything but battlefield 2 wont launch it is always CTD on EA screen, i tried editing the profile, tried deleting it and tried do the CPU thing, but nothing works.
When i was installing the 1.5 update for the third time i actually noticted this error, any ideas?
"CRC error: the file C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\objects_client.zip doesnt match the file in the setups .cab file."
Any ideas?

Re: Odd Error Message
What version of BF2? Origin, Steam, Retail CD, etc.
Where did you download the 1.41 Full patch?
What do you have installed now?
Here is the reply I respond with when anyone runs into your general problem, please go through this and check you've performed each step in order, then let us know if you need any help:

[/b][/QUOTE]'[R-COM wrote:LITOralis.nMd']Was BF2 installed and working before you installed PR? Was BF2 patched to 1.5 ?
Can you log in to vanilla BF2?
If BF2 was already working, we'll suggest one course of action. (Could be firewall/antivirus/router/installation error/etc)
IF BF2 was just installed NOW so you can play PR, all the parts have to be installed in proper order.
Please read below and make sure you installed BF2 and PR in this order:
Here is the installation guide with download links:
PR:BF2 Support - Project Reality Forums
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr ... guide.html
Here is the installation guide in tl;dr format:
Install BF2.
Run BF2.
Note the version number on the bottom left corner of the log-in screen. Write it down.
log in or create a user account.
join online game.
adjust your audio and video settings now for convenience.
exit BF2.
Reboot.
(Optionally if you bought it) install Special Forces Addon.
Run BF2.
log in.
join online game.
exit BF2.
Reboot.
install 1.41 FULL PATCH.
Run BF2.
log in.
join online game.
exit BF2.
Reboot.
install 1.5 PATCH.
Run BF2.
log in.
join online game.
exit BF2.
Reboot.
Download and install 0.973 full installer.
Start the PR shortcut on desktop.
log in.
exit PR.
Download and install the PR 0.973 to 0.981 Patch
(If it CTDs, Edit the PR shortcut as described below.)
Start the PR shortcut on desktop.
log in.
join online game.
If you crash at the splash screen, or the screen goes black and then crashes to desktop, try to start PR in windowed mode by following the directions below:
Edit your PR shortcut and ( what AfterDune said ) put this in it
If you start in windowed mode and it CTDs, a Message will pop up telling you the problem. Take a screenshot or write this down and post it to this thread.Code: Select all
Code: "D:\Program Files\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\pr.exe" +restart +menu 1 +fullscreen 0 +szx 1280 +szy 720 Dont just copy paste this, but adjust to your install location. Make sure you dont omit quotation marks or it wont work.
You can then download the Anders Soundmod at your discretion.

ok so i got BF2 vanilla to run after disabling everything runing in compatability mode and as adminsitrator, joined a game killed a few people and left but now it keeps crashing again, sometimes it crashes straight away, sometimes at the EA logo sometimes at the logo after that it's like a lucky dip!

Re: Odd Error Message
Just remove one stick of ram and see if there is any difference.
It should run good enough with 4 GB.
And please don't try to manually repair a screwed up BF2/PR installation.
Just reinstall everything!
