u can try erasing the VIDEO.CON file (there are two) in the documments/bf2/profiles folder
also erase the cache folder

dont worry about that, it will be recreated when u start the game and u will have to reconfigure ur video settings

if u dont know wat iam talking about, dont erase anything

To be more specific,
go to documentts/bf2/profiles/default/ and delete Video.con
then go to documents/bf2/profiles/000X and delete Video.con
then start vanilla BF2.
Log in,
go to video options, and properly set up your resolution and refresh rate.
exit BF2.
restart vanilla BF2
go to video options again to make sure the video options "stuck" on the restart.
That should permanently fix this.


0001 through 0009 directories are created for each profile you create for the game.

Aspect ratio error is simply a problem that you have the wrong resolution and/or refresh frequency set in Video.con files.
