Re: Your connection to the server has been lost
Well I stumbled upon a solution on BF3 battlelog from some canadian guy. Seems it was an old or "wrong" driver for my Saitek keyboard. I just downloaded it from their site and no problems on 3 different servers for ca 10 minutes.
First, I thought it was a joke.. well you never know, until you try.
Everyone with this issue - try updating your HID or any other hardware to the latest driver.
Windows 7 used a driver from 2006 for my keyboard.

experiMENTALoid, can you tell us your exact keyboard model so I we can help the next guy who runs into this problem?

Re: Your connection to the server has been lost
It is Saitek Cyborg V.5.
I am still unsure, what does a keyboard driver has to do with connection problems... mystical.
Edit:
Tried today and the problem is back again, I have to unravel this puzzle somehow.

Re: Your connection to the server has been lost
I contacted my ISP, they will upgrade or already upgraded the firmware of their router Thomson TG787 which I use, but do not have a full control of it. They will also make my second router (which I bought and it is better) in bridge mode, so then I will have a full control.. I guess.
Anyway, I have played today for 3-4 hours without a single kick.. so I do believe it is not fixable on client side.
Try to contact your ISP about upgrading your router, if you cannot do it yourself.. or buy a better one.
Update: ISP upgraded the firmware of Thomson router, then at the same time made my TP Link as a main router in bridge mode. Playing for second day without a hitch and I do noticed that the random "There is a problem with your connection" pop up only lasts for ca 1.0 second now instead of 3-5 before.

Re: Your connection to the server has been lost
I've found that the only way around this is to get a hard ethernet line to your router

Re: Your connection to the server has been lost
I had the "Your connection to the server has been lost" problem in almost every round!
Sometimes after few minutes sometimes only after 20-30 minutes. Pretty random.
I have a very fast and reliable cable router connection. Not playing over wireless.
I always thought it had something to do with punkbuster.
After trying all common PB fixes I even reinstalled BF2 and PR.
Then I found out that I even get the above message on vanilla BF2 servers where Punkbuster is NOT enabled!
This knowledge lead me to all sorts of Windows network tuning.
I tested every single change and reverted it, when it didn't help.
But then I tested THIS:

Read article "Disable Windows Scaling heuristics" and "TCP Auto-Tuning".

Since that change I played serval hours BF2 and PR without any connection lost!these commands should be executed in elevated command prompt (with admin priviledges):
netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled
(default is "enabled")
and
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=highlyrestricted
(default is "normal")

Re: Your connection to the server has been lost
TeRROR has been nominated to win one internetz.
Testing this out and will get some people I know who get constant disconnects to test this also.
Funny thing is, I used to do this for winXP using the old DrTCP program, DrTCP windows TCP tune and tweak | DSLReports.com, ISP Information .
Didn't remember it when this problem started for PR.

Re: Your connection to the server has been lost
Nice. I've also been having this issue and will test it out. I had been working on network issues, like checking with my ISP for signal/load issues, updating network drivers and adjusting settings, and even digging out the old SpeedGuide TCP Optimizer. Didn't know about these two variables. I wonder what changed that caused it to only recently (Dec for me) rear its ugly head.

Re: Your connection to the server has been lost
Instead of "highlyrestricted" you can test with "disabled" too.
But the former should be preferred, as "disabled" might have an negative impact on maximum throughput.
Actually I have the feeling, that webbrowsing with these settings is faster too.
Might be placebo though.

Tried it and had sound distortion when other players were talking.TeRR0R wrote:I had the "Your connection to the server has been lost" problem in almost every round!

Go to the "Log On" tab and make sure "Allow this program to interact with the desktop" is checked off, then go to the "Recovery" tab. Make sure all three drop-down menus are set to "Restart."
I tried this last night after having the same exact problem as the OP for about two weeks, and I played a game on Kashan Desert for about three hours with no problems. Note that this will not fix the issue of being unable to connect the first time you try, but it did seem to fix the random disconnect once actually in the server.
Hope this helps you like it did me!![]()
I can't find my punkbuster B service any help anyone?
1st two squads are CAS?.. Well isn't this just going to be a great game..

Re: Your connection to the server has been lost
Thanks Terror, seems to work with my router now with that info.
Confirmed: it shows up in services list once the game is running and you have connected to a server.
The person suggested to look at it while pr is running, I noticed in the PB log that pbA starts pbB after you have joined a server i think. Im not sure but it may show up in the list at that point.SCE_BloodyStars wrote:I can't find my punkbuster B service any help anyone?
