Low FPS on most maps
I've tried almost everything to optimize PR on my PC, including defraging my hard drive, using CCleaner to clean out my cookies, Mz RAM Booster, running multiple virus scans, deleting the Video cache, and using BF2 cleaner. I've managed to speed up my system overall, but my FPS in PR is still terrible. I can run vBF2 no problem with +60 FPS in almost all situations on highest settings. On the other hand, my FPS in PR fluctuates anywhere from 15 ? 90 FPS, depending on the direction I look at and the map. I've noticed the FPS drop is even more noticeable when I am operating a heavy asset and with the use of thermals or when I am fighting in a urban environment with many buildings and objects.
I've noticed no significant changes (<5 FPS) with the adjustment of graphical settings, my game run almost exactly the same from Low - Medium/high.
One more thing, the PR:N and PR:V maps seem to run with a higher FPS than vanilla PR for some reason.
System Specs:

Intel Core i3-2350M (2.3GHz, 3MB L3 Cache), Quad-core

Sound Card
Realtek High Definition Audio
Hard Drive(s)

What is the exact model number of your Acer laptop.
I'm guessing it is one of the 5750's, but there is like a dozen variants, so please give us the exact model info.
Not much we can offer other than
1. Remove all Aero glass desktop composition features, i.e. make your desktop look like a default windows XP desktop.
2. not sure if this will work, but you can try this fix, make usre you know if you have 32 bit or 64 bit windows 7,. and download the correct fix:
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f27-pr ... b-ram.html
3. ... depending on your laptop , you can investigate updating your BIOS to an unlocked BIOS. Not a good idea for your particular situation.

1. I've been playing PR without Aero forever, and I also have adjusted my appearance for performance only'[R-COM wrote:LITOralis.nMd;1874485']What is the exact model number of your Acer laptop.

2. I've used both largeaddressaware and increase userva
3. Haven't tried this yet, but I haven't found any options to overclock or increase video ram in my BIOS
BTW, the specific model number of my Acer is the Aspire 5750-6418
I've also tried launching PR windowed, didn't work very well in terms of FPS. V-sync does not affect my FPS either BTW.
Just a side note, I've noticed that even while playing PR on highest graphics, my computer only uses around 3.9GB at most.

Do you have a 32 bit or 64 bit version of windows?
You have 8GB of RAM, you need 64 bit to use more than ( 4GB- (shared video RAM) ) , which usually equals anywhere from 3.7Gb to 3.9GB as viewed from inside task manager.

The link below will bring you to a download of the unlocked BIOS for your laptop.
There has been good performance increases reported, but I do not have first hand knowledge, read the thread and decide for yourself.
I am warning you that I can not help you and the realitymod.com team can not be held responsible if you brick your laptop trying to perform the BIOS replacement procedure.
Read the entire thread, preferably keep website open on another PC so you can read it as you go.

If you don't try the unlocked BIOS, it would still be good option for you to install the newest Stable Official Acer BIOS from here:

Video Card(s)
Integrated Intel HD System Graphics with 128mb of dedicated video memory
Well this says for everything, that card should't be used for gaming.

Hey in GPU-Z at the bottom where it's like a drop-down menu that says Intel(R) HD Graphics family, does it have anything else when you click it? I have a feeling you might have a dedicated video card. Otherwise, I'm really surprised ot hear you get 60+ fps on high settings in BF2 vanilla. and being able to change from low to high settings without much of a FPS change usually indicates that your video card is not the problem.
Your CPU is pretty weak for this game. Have you tried lowering your view distance? I think if you lower it to say 85% it will help alot with your fps (but with 85% view distance, i wouldnt recommend operating heavy assets)

Re: Low FPS on most maps
No, I tried the list, there's on one setting for graphics. I don't think the reason I lag in PR isn't the lack of memory, but more over the processing power of my CPU/GPU.ConscriptVirus wrote:Hey in GPU-Z at the bottom where it's like a drop-down menu that says Intel(R) HD Graphics family, does it have anything else when you click it? Re: Low FPS on most maps
And again:
It's a PR fault you cant do much against it.
An Example: I got a really good computer
CPU: I7 980x
GPU: 580GTX EVGA Overclocked
RAM: 16 GB
SSD: OCZ Vertex 3
So I got most of the time 100 FPS, however there are certain areas on some maps I got a drop to 30 FPS. I could go crazy and try to optimize what I want with no effect of course.
Simply because its a mapping fault stated by the DEV's already due to bad statics, LODs and Textures.
What you can do though, never set the Battlefield Anti-Aliasing higher than 2.
Laptops arent meant for gaming though...

its a problem with the map not your PC.
I know some areas on fallujah is killing almost everyones FPS.

Re: Low FPS on most maps
After setting the view distance to 85%, I have been able to improve my overall FPS by around 10~15 frames. However, on certain areas of some maps, I will still lag to around 20~30 FPS. This usually happens when I move my camera too fast. On some maps, I am able to achieve <60 FPS the entire time, while on other maps like Fallujah West, Gaza Beach, and Lashkar Valley, I can't even get higher than 50 FPS.
I heard they were planning to optimize PR as much as possible in PR 1.0. There was a post back by [R-DEV]Rhino about how the process of creating custom textures in PR caused a significant performance decrease. They're now in process of converting these textures back into the format of vBF2 textures.
Can a DEV comment on this thread and till us what performance enhancements are in for PR 1.0?

Re: Low FPS on most maps
Mariuska, your Video card is not made for gaming, it is a graphics card designed for a HTPC or office PC.
Everything is quiet fine for PR.
If you ever get to the point you want to upgrade, and you might want some opinions on which card to buy, please start a thread in the tech support forum and peole will be more than happy to help you choose the right card for your PC.
