I found a picture of a MTLB AA Image

I found a picture of a MTLB AA (attachment) I thought that one would be a good editon to MEC AA vehicles. and for some reason I think they have more versions of these then Gopher Rocket AA.

second thing I saw was half of this AA is already done. all that have to be is AA cannon with shields and where its placed. MTLB with 7.62 machinegun is already ingame.

second thought was if it would be possible to have a second version of Cas huey. now it have 14 rockets but I think a second version of it would be sweeet ;-)

second version would be like the kiowa on karbala. 7 rockets and a machinegun. but instead of having a 50cal machinegun it would have minigun from blackhawk. (dont know how realistic that is) but I have seen UH1 helicopters with miniguns on its side.

If you re-read the sticky-threads up top, you will see that we do not take suggestions for equipment on factions for which we have advisers. But since the MEC is fictitious, I'll let this slide.

The MT-LB with deck-mounted ZU-23-2 was a jury-rigged conversion by the Saddam era Iraqi Army. It's not something that was built by the manufacturer, so I doubt there are that many of them still around, much less ones outside of Iraq in battle-ready condition (war trophies). The gunner sits on top of it, pretty much fully exposed, even on the version with the roof (which limits the elevation). The Iraqis had a couple of unique variants of the MT-LB that never got out of prototype stage; this might have been one of them.

"For some reason" isn't reason enough. Again, the MEC are a fictional faction, anyway. What they have or have more of is completely arbitrary on our part.

Miniguns (and other guns) on the UH-1N are operated by the crew chiefs/door gunners. They do not get mounted in place of rocket pod; the weapons mount system has positions for rocket pods or other weapons and two pintles for guns. Theoretically, the miniguns are able to fired by one of the pilots from the fixed, forward position, but this information comes from a Marine Huey crew-chief who used to frequent the forum.
The range of motion was full foreward and 90degrees aft. The guns were never fired in the fixed foreward position. The gun mounts were handled roughly and the electrical attachments were always broken.

The reason we never fired the GAU-17 in the fixed fwd position is that the cannon plug on the DAS mount was ALWAYS broken by someone stepping on it. I think my pilots only fired it once fwd, but it was cause the other crewchief held the gun fwd.

OP of most purposes don't you think. I mean the CAS Huey may be lightly armed but its hard as heck to shoot down. Although with other factions getting heavier light attack choppers might be a possibility.
But it is a good question why do the UMSC in game use the UN-1N I thought they used the new UH-1Y mostly now?

OP? WTF is so overpowering about the UH-1Y? In game the only difference between a CAS version of it and the UH-1N would be more rockets. And the HUD would actually be authentic, since the UH-1N doesn't have one. Just a crosshair drawn with marker on the windshield.

Because we don't have the resources to make the model for it and every time we make an asset for a BLUFOR faction, REDFOR fanboys cry foul, and vice versa. Same reason we don't have door guns on either UH-1N version, yet. And if we're going to model a UH-1Y we mught as well model an actual AH-1Z because from the rotor and engine back, they're pretty much the same. Again, resources.

By OP i meant that the extra miniguns all over the place. 14 hydras(ish) plus two miniguns would make it very heavy as a light attack chopper.

It'd also be a little bit bigger target than most other light attack choppers. The UH-1Y has increased lift, so it can carry the 19-shot pods in addition to the door guns. Haven't seen miniguns in fixed, forward-firing mode on it, though.

Those miniguns would be too OP even withount the rockets. Even with having them for door gunners since the current version of the huey can take quite a beating.

I'm still hoping for more Stryker variants.

From memory there is something of this in 1.0, said in the change logs. LAV with only 4 passenger slots or something.
