Single play Vehicle
There is a tank that can be operated by one player to PRmod.
File name "us_tnk_m1a2_bf2"
I make a map and use it with coop mode well.
but, PR:V, Normandie, a vehicle of Falkland do not have it.
They are very attractive vehicles.
Is there the plan to add code to to operate those vehicles alone?
I hope it in Virsion1.0!
thank you.

Actually u can add it urself.
Just copy those map, rename it, and add them.(So it wont affect the original files.)
Although I didnt tried before, go check the community modding section, u might find some useful posts.

Re: Single play Vehicle
Name one tank that is operated by a single person - IRL.
...See, there isn't one. Project Reality, in my eyes, has always intended to strike a balance between simple playability and realism (as much as is feasible, working within the constraints of the game engine).
Now I can see why you would like single manned tanks for the CO-OP gamemode, especially if you have limited internet access. It could make things more fun without destroying the balance of the game - because, I mean, there's no balance to start with since you're fighting bots.
But know that this is a game intended for teamwork and cooperation (hence the name of the CO-OP gamemode, I'm guessing). Aren't most things in life more fun when done together with a group of friends, or perhaps newly made friends?

Some tanks with BF2 feature can be manned by a single guy.
But it's in COOP mode.
In single player map pack. there are more one man tanks. Like T-72, M1A2, challengerⅡ.
No offense, but there are lots of ppl love to play Single Player.
We cant force them to play online......
BTW, Single Player mode can help ppl to familiar with weaponary.
If op wants to train himself, there is some training maps can be found in moddb.

What I do to train with vehicles and weaponry is to start a local server and use "rcon debug" then "rcon oneman" "rcon start"Jolly wrote: BTW, Single Player mode can help ppl to familiar with weaponary.
After that is done i can spawn the vehicle i want and try to shoot it with no delay or black-screen. Of course this will not give you any meaningful action and moving targets but I still think it is good practice and there is no distractions. After all PR is meant as a multiplayer game so I just use this for practice for multiplayer
Of course this wont work well with aircraft gunners but the "TEST airfield" map is perfect for aspiring pilot gunners.
link to thread about using Rcon commands

If addition is simple, I perform it by oneself.

Re: Single play Vehicle
Its not that simple to just "change the name of the map".
If you never play online, then do the following:
GO to C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\levels\the_falklands\server.zip\gamemodes\gpm_cq\64
Go to... wait a min. I cant find a coop on this.
Well open the file in there with a text editor that isnt filled with stuff. Use Notepad or Notepad++
Then add the vehicle by either replacing a vehicle or creating a completly new vehicle spawn point.
I would suggest doing what i said first, since making a completly new vehicle spawn point is tricky.

I want to get on the tank alone.
but "PR:V T-34 and M48, PR:N US and German tanks " does not support single play tank.
If two crew does not get on the tank, I cannot play them.
I do not have the knowledge of Code, but,I know the editing method of Code.

Re: Single play Vehicle
You can either create sp version of this vehicles, or use rcon commands to allow using it with one person. So first you drive where you want as driver, then switch to gunner and kill enemies.
There is tutorial how to do it. You will need to edit realityconfig_coop.py insted of realityconfig_local.py, and then ingame use rcon debug, rcon oneman and rcon start.

Tbh vehicle warfare would be way cooler with single-man tanks and many more of them.

Agreed. I suggested it a few years ago. Sadly, most people didn't seem too interested, the idea of making anything easier on the squad level just seems to rub people the wrong way.Stealthgato wrote:Tbh vehicle warfare would be way cooler with single-man tanks and many more of them.

Re: Single play Vehicle
There are countless other games that offer vehicle warfare that are single-player operated, in a much bigger scale so going in the same direction with PR would just lose the reality minded players and eventually lose the single player action minded players to other games.Stealthgato wrote:Tbh vehicle warfare would be way cooler with single-man tanks and many more of them.
I do agree thought that vehicle warfare is a bit boring since there is only max 32 vehicles on the map at a time.... where maybe at best a quarter of them are fighting and the other 3/4 are waiting on spawning or rolling to the battlefield, making it 4 vs 4 vehicles at best.
smaller maps (which doesn't really suit vehicles) or capture flags working as spawn-points and vehicle spawn like vanilla. might help out a bit though. or of course larger servers but its a minority that likes vehicle warfare.
