Re: INS talk to BLUFOR mumble night
in my opinion it should generally be like this, not only in an event to have a tribute to the old times
i mean it's not only much more realistic to hear the enemies when they are talking local, it also gives the opportunity to make prisoners and talk to them

I'm not sure what fun times you remember, I recall mostly dead people getting taunted/arguing with the people who killed them. Trolling was just the norm in mumble, and I honestly feel changing it back to 1 channel will just undermine any maturity the community has gained since the change.
Bad idea, really bad idea.

The problem about one channel mumble is that you almost always understood your enemy. IRL you would just hear derka derka ahmed jihad, while in PR you'll hear an insurgent talking perfect english with a scottish accent. Same for russians, chineese, everyone. It's just even less realistic than being deaf to enemy's voice.

^^ This really sums it up. There is already enough childish shit going on in the mod as it is without adding to it.Murphy wrote:I'm not sure what fun times you remember, I recall mostly dead people getting taunted/arguing with the people who killed them. Which illustrates the point he made rather nicely, even though I assume your intentions were to the contrary.Jamaican wrote:do you speak chinese when playing chinese or russian when playing russian

Re: INS talk to BLUFOR mumble night
well murphy how about on one night, we have a nice casual INSURGENCY with hostage taking, music on coms, singing of Qom, Trolling those that kill you, tricking the enemy into traps. ETC ETC all hosted thanks to some awesome admins.Murphy wrote:Which illustrates the point he made rather nicely, even though I assume your intentions were to the contrary.
On another night we all stay home synchronise clocks, drink coffee then racially separate ourselves into 2 teams to play Russia vs. china. O wait I wont be there :O
I know more of you like a nice silly game of insurgency from time to time ,watching carloads of singing jihads fool around.

Re: INS talk to BLUFOR mumble night
You are further proving the point mentioned by a previous poster when you outline the fact that you cannot converse in Russian or which ever faction you may play as. I cannot see how you fail to grasp that concept.
I understand what you are getting at, and maybe in a perfect situation where everyone gets along it could be the norm. This is the internet and we all know that will never happen. I fear the results of said event would not pan out the way you envision. Yes I am sure there will be quite a few funny moments, but I am also fairly certain they will be eclipsed by the immaturity of the average gamer. As a one off event, well there have been worse conceived ones, but as the standard it would just be bad news.

I like this idea if mumble were lik ArmA 2 ACRE mod, if you are dead or heavily wounded you cannot hear nor talk

You inability to reason with logic is somewhat concerning, but it's ok as this is the internet and if I disagree with your views I am wrong and {insert uninspired insult here}.=-=kittykiller wrote:what the hell murphy im not flaming you man but if ure guna be a miserable git that can see the fun side of this please start ure own thread ure hijacking it with some kind of rantin about it not being fun when I know it will be , who else
Truth be told, you posted on a forum for discussion and as such I believe all posters are allowed to voice their views on each and every thread unless otherwise restricted (be it locked, or by number of posts required).
You also went on to demonstrate the flaw with your concept, people cannot stand someone opposing them and for most people the natural reaction is to lash out and let logic fall to the wayside. Now imaging how a discussion that isn't going your way would play out in mumble as you laid on the ground at the feet of your enemy.

One channel mumble, fun while it lasted, better now it's gone. Probably best to keep it that way, if only to tease the children.

Re: INS talk to BLUFOR mumble night
I thought you could hear the enemy's local mic chatter
If a guy decided to talk local, then it should be local and server-side.
Maybe what you guys are talking about is the old version of PR like 0.7+ when the local talk can be heard in one channel and not in a distance like in 0.9 and above.

Maybe it could be brought back for a special event kinda like PRTA's Operation Deliverance.
