It seems related to a waterfall of some sort... do you have any of those?

Has nothing to do with the waterfall.

PR v0.98 is really at its limit when it comes to effects. You've reached the maximum amount of particle emitters (or something like that).

What are you loading? Normandy?

The only way to get rid of this error is to no have too many effects in the mod (bf2 + pr + possible minimod combined).

This is for normal PR though. His Alert map.

He has everything ready for a public test but this is keeping him stranded.

check your ambientobjects.con and staticobjects.con using a text editor and using the find tool for 'sea'

But that's not the issue. The effect file that's listed on the screenshot is just a "random" effect file it's loading, it's NOT the issue. It's just the file it's loading that pushes things over the edge.

Are you loading the map on normal PR, not a PR_Edit or something?

Also, effect files are always loaded, whether you use them ANYWHERE in your mod or not. It seems (from my experience with this shitty error anyways) that you're loading additional effects or so.

yeah, had same on goose green. Basically the PR effects together with yours are too much. if So check if you made any custom ones in your object and client zips and if so maybe delete them if you can. It doesn't matter if they are on your map, the loading loads all off them. I think pr .98 is like 1 effect away from the limit, cause I can only add one extra to goose green :p

Willing to bet if you try loading any map in your PR_Edit atm, it'll crash the same :)

adding stuff in sometimes really makes it angry.

again, the effects on your map don't matter. The ones it loads do. Meaning every archive it loads, whether it's in PR,PR_EDIT, your map. just make sure that whatever custom effect you made doesn't get loaded with it.

If the above wasn't clear its how many your mod loads, not how many are being used in your map or being used by vehicles/weapons or w/e in your map as the game loads every .con file it can find when loading a map then unloads what it doesn't need (in terms of code, not textures etc) iirc or at least something close to that and as such, it loads every effect in the mod and when it reaches the max amount of effects, ctd. So ye, best thing to do is add any custom effects into your map object files (ie, a map objects_client/server.zip, can't have too many more effects otherwise it will CTD) and then test it in normal pr :)

Yeah, it doesn't even matter if you use the effects. If they are there, they get loaded :( .
