Can't Install

So... I'm trying to install PR for BF2, and when I ran it, it said I didn't have update 1.5. So I downloaded it and ran it, and the update said "Can't find Battlefield 2(TM)", so I fixed it by changing some registry stuff. I ran it again and it said I already had that update so I went back to Project Reality, and it still says I don't have it. Please help ??:

Something definately went wrong. Rather than trying to fix whatever might have been screwed up your should probably start from scratch. Uninstall PR and BF2 and reinstall with these installtion steps:

Installation order

If you do not have Battlefield 2 v1.5 installed:
Depending on what version of BF2 you have, you may have to install BF2 differently. The end result will be Battlefield 2 installed, with the v1.5 patch. For the most common type of install, the retail version, you would do the following:

Install Battlefield 2
Optional: Battlefield 2: Special Forces Expansion
Install Battlefield 2 v1.41
Install Battlefield 2 v1.5

Important Note: Please run Battlefield 2 at least once before installing Project Reality, and create a profile to use. This will help to finalize the install ready for Project Reality.


Installing Project Reality: BF2:
Once you have Battlefield 2 v1.5 successfully installed and running, you can then install Project Reality: BF2. You can download the files from here.

If you already have Project Reality: BF2 v0.97 installed and running, you simply need to download and install the Client (v0.97 to v0.98 PATCH).

If you do not already have Project Reality: BF2 v0.97 installed, you need to download Client (v0.97 FULL - Part 1 of 3), Client (v0.97 FULL - Part 2 of 3) and Client (v0.97 FULL - Part 3 of 3). These are then installed in order: Part 1, then Part 2, then Part 3. After this, you need to apply the Client (v0.97 to v0.98 PATCH)

It is strongly recommended that you close all open applications when installing PR:BF2.

Depending on your choices in the installer wizard, you can then launch Project Reality: BF2 from the desktop or start menu shortcut.
