In time yes. In the case of The Falklands (PR:F) and PR:N, its very much up to the community at this point to help push these along as we (the developers) are pretty caught up with fixing up the main PR (which dose include PR:V).

As you can see in this thread here for PR:F: https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f388-p ... tasks.html

It lists all the main things that need to be made for it in order to get rid of the place holders currently in the mod, like modelling the Blowpipe Handheld AA to replace the Stinger and the Strela 2 as well as filling in totally missing items like the Panhard AML 90 for the Argentine Light Tank, as well as being usable in many other areas of PR like for the African Resistance Fighters faction ;)

There are also many people working on making stuff for PR:F like the Tigercat SAM, new British camo, and of course the L4A4 Bren LMG but as per the community tasks topic the model is pretty much done, just needs someone to UV and texture it etc :)

KaB wrote:Thinking about it, can't the crates be shown on the map with a small icon ?
Quobble wrote:hm...marked crates? never thought about it :)
sounds good though
+1
In theory its possible but would require changing how our trucks/choppers deploy crates etc so the icon only shows up for the side that deployed them. It is something some devs did try in the past but couldn't get it to work, but I think I know where they went wrong. Question is, is it something we still want? Then is there anyone with time to make it happen :p
CTRifle wrote:Those would be some pretty small icons :P
The minimap icon the prbot currently uses (ie, the 1px box) is the icon the crates where meant to use :p

Yes I have. Very very hard effect though. So lets see how it turns out. ;)

I've really enjoyed your last video on the blog, especially explosions. Did you work with brunitogg on big ones (Mortars, Garries blowing up, C4, Area Attacks... and napalm) ? :)

Do we've to expect in the future a showcase video of all your changes as you did in your previous ones, like in the following video ?

PS : sounds of the M67 grenade for 1.0 is just fucking insane. Keep up the good work :p
Thx mate.

Yes, those are beeing worked on. Yes they will be seen in some of the upcoming media. :)

[R-CON]Rivers has tweaked the crates to be much less slidey, so that should be fixed yeah! The only downside is no more crate surfing. :-P

I wouldn't think that way... :)

Dear Dev's,
are you still working on the fastropes? or do you just think its impossible to make? or are just a few devs working at a secret fastrope project that surprises us in PR1.0? and if so: would you tell me?

EDIT:

and another thing:
can you make grapple hooks look like a real rope? they look like a long licorice in my opinion.. they need some texture like this:http://img.directindustry.de/images_di/ ... 685535.jpg

To not waste too much time on this, there is probaly some way to make them "work", but in all likleyhood, they would be very, very buggy, not be user freindly and at the end of the day, in 95% of cases its easier, quicker and safer to land in or around the area you would have "fast roped" into anyways...

We have more important things to work on that add more to gameplay and immersion than fast ropes...

So what's going to happen after the release of 1.0 to the dev team? Are most of you (since the ultimate release is done) going to work on PR 2?

Since updating via launcher is pretty easy, I assume there will be lots of fixes and content coming after 1.0

PR v1.0 is NOT the "final release". Many devs will continue working on PR:BF2 well after v1.0 as there is still much for us to do on this engine :)

As for moving onto PR2, I personally probably wont. Once I'm done with PR:BF2, which is probably going to be some time from now, I'll be probably moving on from PR totally but that's still a long way off from what I can see so nothing is certain.

No, due to the French using French voice effects ingame. Only if factions use the same voice can you alternate between them in layers of the same map, apparantly.

Is that an engine limitation or just very hardcoded?

Even if they were French Canadian?

Devs, I use a joystick for the jets and choppers, and I'm unable to press 'Contact' with the fire button of my joystick in the commo rose. In other words, Q + this joy key doesn't do anything. Is there any way I can fix that ?

I don't see the problem of having a Canadian layer then.

Totally different accent (I'm guessing)? As well as the majority of Canadians speak English too afaik?
