But is the accents in present PR really that accurate? I have heard that the germans sound very weird. And the canadians have the US voices?

According to wikipedia about 20% of canadas population speak french. But yeah, I really have no clue about it.

Regarding out of bounds, will all maps be redone so that if you fly outside of the map, you don't ever get hurt or at least extend it to a minute before that happens? Also what about on Jabal how the MEC can't even drive their APCs slightly into the water without going out of bounds. There are no markers and it just makes for a poor experience.

The fact that there's no Canadian accent is just fine with me, I'd rather go without hearing the passive aggressiveness of their people and insults such as hoser, or goof. Nah I'm joking, every Canadian I talk to sounds American so the accent is seriously not needed.

I talked to zombie-yellow about that on other thread.

He told that some divisions are French, as they originate from places where French is mostly spoken, IIRC.

He also told that if you want to be an Officer for the Canadian Army you must speak both French and English.

I watched a video showing Canadian soldiers training using VBS, and they were speaking French.

The accent is really different :) I'm a french Canadian and I know that for sure :P We have lot of military units in Quebec (basically the last french-speaking fortress in North-America) and it would be accurate to have a french-speaking Canadian faction in PR :p

Also, all officers in the Canadian Forces are required to be bilingual. I don't know for normal troops though.

EDIT: SShadowFox ninja'd me :p

Jets will be able to fly out of bounds for as long as they wish on all layers that have jets. Helos, vehicles and infantry will still have a timer.

As for MEC entering the water on Jabal al Burj, this was due to an issue where the MEC would rape the US as they exited the dome of protection around their carrier. The diagram below is what the combat boundary looks like and we don't see why the MEC needs to go into the water. It just begs for encroachment and raping if they do.

All that you wanted to know, without asking, about differences between the French language from Paris and the French language from Quebec :) . Zombie-Yellow what do you think about this following video ?

Even in France, our language is spoken with many accents (Parisian accents, Accents of Normandy, Accents from Picardy, accents of the south west...), like english all around the world i guess.

this video, that is of course intended humorous, show it well

0m21 - 0m48 : French accent from Belgium
0m49 - 2m25 : French accent from Marseille (the french riviera)
2m26 - 3m30 : French accent from Corsica (the "island of beauty" in the Mediterranean sea)
3m31 - 4m03 : French arab accent
4m04 - 4m21 : French accent from the Berry (Center of the France, towards the famous "chateaux of the Loire Valley")
4m21 - 4m51 : French accent from Toulouse (south west)
4m52 - 5m42 : French gipsy accent
5m43 - 6m09 : The "Chti" accent (North-East, toward the belgium borders)
6m10 - 6m44 : The french Canadian accent
6m45 - 7m23 : French accent from Paris
7m24 - 8m01 : French accent from Switzerland
8m02 - 8m39 : French carabean accent (IMO, the accent from the Martinique island :roll :)
8m40 - 11m20 : French accent from the Ivorian coast (west black africa)
11m21 - 14m05 : French accent from the big towns' suburbs
14m06 - 15m23 : French Jewish accent from "the sentier" ( A french parisian street)

This would result in an almost certain death of the crew and I simply don't see the reason why this should be kept like that, since we
a) got those shields now afaik and
b) a slightly modified combat area would still not allow MEC to rape the carrier but atleast they wouldn't die when falling into the water.

See attached pic for an example DoD that would/could work. Although it could be even a bit closer to the mainland in general
(I just painted it here quickly) but I would say a minimum of 5 meters should be kept between the edge of the combat area and the coastal line.

In real life, when you look through a red dot, you have both eyes open, and the dot gets projected onto the other eye (which doesn't look through the red dot). The casing of the red dot is therefore transparent and barely notecable.

Will you implement something like that in the future? :) This is a thing EVERY shooter on the market did wrong :D

But how do you want to do it.

The only reasonable way to do it, is via 3D, which is not supported in BF2. You could make weapon transparent, but it would require redoing all weapons, and other players could also see through your weapon.

What if just 1p weapon scope model gets semi-transparent and slightly blurred?

I updated it for you. Gives you just enough room to get back on land. :)

Yeah, I think it's a little bit overdone though on Jabal. There's not way to get from West Beach to the Jabal Damn without taking a 10 minute detour around that mountain. If you made a narrow passage that would allow vehicles to travel through the water, it would put give the MEC some incentive to actually ever go to West Beach besides camping.

EDIT: Damn it. Ninja'd by a half hour. What a shame. Thanks Soccer, good work.

Technically however the MEC Amphibious vehicles are not designed to swim in the sea, only across small rivers etc :p
