5k Club

Post by Vicious302 »

I scored over 5k yesterday on Lashkar Valley. I'd say at least 3k came from hideouts but another 2k at least came from transport and combat, meaning that I did work for it, anyone else have any 5k rounds?

In 0.75-0.86 I used to sometimes make squads at the start of the round named "10k squad" which didn't make sense to others until they saw the end-of-round scores :P

Being the only squad making fobs and actually defending objectives racks up points really quick! But at the end of the day, points themselves are useless, it's what you do to get the points (ie teamwork) that counts

Edit: There's also a limit to how many points can be shown on the scoreboard for an individual... I think it's 5000+ points though. Hit that a few times.... but it shows the correct total at the end of the round ^_^

If there is a limit, then its higher. Was playing coop lately and almost everyone had 10k+ points.

I'm pretty sure the limit is something like 2063, atleast on the ingame scoreboard.

2047 is the limit on the scoreboard. I went up to 5000+ last time as a tank driver on Karbala, when my gunner had around 100 kills. That was a pretty juicy round!

It's quite funny to see squads so focused on the scoreboard, building all available emplacements they can place around a FOB without any reason besides the points it gets them.

Then the fob gets spotted as easily, as if it would appear marked on the opponents map, and quickly destroyed. Then they building another one with all the assets again and most of the times in the most absurd locations like in the middle of a road.

Points in PR don't mean anything...

Well for me I was an insurgent and we might have placed 2 Spgs and 4 Mortars all round, which got used. The points were merely an indicator of how many hideouts we dug and how much we moved around, which means everything as an insurgent. We kept in constant contact with enemies at least every 10-15 minutes because we were able to use the hideouts as indicators of where the enemy was, and it kept them away from unknown caches that they were close to twice, ending the round with 3 (4) caches left to go. So far my win percentage when I have maxed out points (2047) is roughly 80-90%.

Onil I can think of one thing worse. On a full server 6 months ago I my team had to deal with a 6 man squad who's only objective was points on iron eagle. For 60 minutes they sat at radar destroying and rebuilding their FOB and emplacements, along with ditching their two logi trucks in a hole on iron eagle that we had to kill them to make them re spawn. By the time the fight came back to them because our team couldn't hold off the full ifd team, they were instantly wiped out. Their reasoning for this was they just wanted to have fun.

Congratulation.

Awhile back on muttrah i got to 3k in the first 10+ mins of the round start, all i was doing was HAT'n a roof FOB in NC which was constantly been build from below :)

Saying that, you must get points for destroying a FOB? there was a thread about this.

Ya, you get 80 points for taking a FOB down to its base, I've had times where a guy was building a hideout from below and we were constantly shooting the radio, my gunner got 80 points each time the FOB went down, so that turned into a lot of points quickly.

And what about that ridiculous invicible FOB-spawnpoint - which is a pure nonsense - on the middle flag on Ia Drang

Wasn't thre something in the older versions, where by dropping a repair station on a fob that was going down itwould keep repairing it but not enough to keep fob up so it would be going up and down over and over and person who dropped repairs would farm bulk points

^^ if the command post was placed near a fob and you destroyed it, it would repair the fob, but not fast enough so you kept getting points for destroying the fob.
