That's interesting that this discussion stopped. Most of people are positive about the fact that PR would get into Greenlight. But no comments from DEVs. Of course they've read the topic, but as always - DEVs are keeping in a dark basement- we're beaten up and starving and without any information about our (PR) future

Can DEVs comment on this subject please? Because, IMO, lot of people including me are willing to throw some money at you so you don't have to pay the entry fee or something.

If we were going to look into this seriously, it would be after v1.0 gets released.

Re: Project Reality on Steam? (Greenlight)
I hope PR DOES get released on Steam. Another great mod - Eastern Front (Company of Heroes) is set for release on Steam as well. Steam is so convenient for updating and social activities - not to mention all my friends use it.
Personally, I would prefer PR v1.0 to be held back till it's been Greenlit on Steam. Ofcourse, the PR-DEVs don't need to release it on being Greenlit - they can still tweak the game and so forth for a later release. That'll be a sure way of getting it Greenlit early - as all us loyalists will click that Vote-up button to get it released!
I presume it shouldn't be that difficult compared to the other things PR-DEVs are up to, especially as BF2 Complete already runs through Steam.

To Greenlight a mod for Battlefield 2 you'd need permission from EA/DICE and they aren't listening to us and I highly doubt they care. Probably will never happen. I'd like it to for the publicity, but we already have an auto-updater on the way for v1.0 so that'll do.

If there is something the PR community can do to get this moving along, I'm sure, with a bit of organization, they'll strongly support it.Darman1138 wrote:To Greenlight a mod for Battlefield 2 you'd need permission from EA/DICE and they aren't listening to us and I highly doubt they care. Re: Project Reality on Steam? (Greenlight)
If PR 1.0 becomes popular it'll become easier for the devs to catch EA's attention, and then to put it on Steam.
So for now the only thing the devs have to do is to make PR 1.0 as good as possible, and then Steam will become possible (and even more).

I wholeheartedly support this idea (if it becomes possible, in the future).

I'm also willed to pay the full-price, if it gets released on greenlight.

Problem is, that we would have to buy engine then, which is probably much more expensive, than can be earned by greenlight.

Why would you have to buy it ?
A lot of free mods are available on Steam and those aren't only Source mods.

Oh ok I didn't get people wanted PR to become a paid game.
I wonder who's gonna take the money as there aren't fixed leaders and members.

Hmm, if PR had to buy the engine that would probably never happen, seeing as DICE still use it for some games - Battlefield Online, Battlefield Heroes, Battlefield Free2Play.
