First you need a designplan, see what you need. Quickly looking at the wikipedia it seems you won't need to many new assets. But don't forget new voices, kit models and player textures are very important and hard to get. And most importantly maps, you need a few mappers to have your army to be on. Take a look how other factions have set up their design plan and take a look at the community forums. this will give you a slight look on how it is done.

vehicles:
M113
HMMWV
Land Rover Defender
Mercedes-Benz Unimog 437(new)
Mil Mi-8

weapons
G36
M14
MG3
FN MAG
MP5
Browning HP/Glock 17
shotgun : Benelli M4 (new?)
Sako TRG
AT4
Carl Gustav (new)
Stinger

no real Airforce it seems?

Good luck tutvys!

thread moved.

We are working hard to get the current official factions done, once they are done (or atleast a couple of them) we are looking for new factions that could bring something new to the battlefield.

Did you even read Mineral's post?

First do a design plan, preferably with some help from someone you know in the Lithuanian military. Then you can start looking at how much work needs to be done.

yeah LAF could be cool but maybe you should consider teaming with another faction. then again your weapons and vehicles are already in game so if you could get someone to do the soilders and reskin some stuff it could work. good luck anyway.

As much as I'd like to see this, I don't think it's worth making imo.

Your plan isn't all that good either, we don't use the standard G36K, but the G36KA4, which is custom ordered with different sights and front end.

The M16 is only used in recon training now, the G36A, K and KA4 are the standard in Astan now.

Also our forces are being pulled out of Afghanistan next year and we don't get much fighting either. Had only 1 KIA over the years. So there's not much point to have them in Astan.

If you play PR, you probably play Arma as well. I've made a mod with our forces some time ago, fully working online. Lithuanian Armed Forces Mod - Modules - Armaholic It's fully functional, but doesn't have all the equipment we use due to arma ppl not wanting to share most of their work for no reason like the Unimog from GAF. It's a good alternative imo. It's as authentic as it gets, know a few people in the military so had good info. There's also no shortage of pics nowadays.

I think anything that odpens .dds, but the best choice should be PhotoShop. If you don't want to buy it, you can try GIMP with .dds plugin.

Seems like you are trying to install the service pack 2 without having installed the actual 3ds max 9 in the first place?

did you install the poe tools? Nativly 3dsmax isn't capable of reading the mesh format that bf2 uses. You need to install the bf2 POE tools for that which can import them.

then you go bf2 tab->utilities->import mesh and then you search for the .con file of that particular mesh(so go to weapons-->g36-->open g36.con(or whatever it's named)) you are trying to open. Make sure your pr_edit is set up nicely so it's all unpacked and ready to be opened.

A word of advice; with as little knowledge as you seem to have about bf2 modding, you cant hope ro finish this faction alone. So if you are doing this alone now, you shouldc consider doing a task or two for some other community faction or minimod, you will get to know the game. Then you will have much better time developing your faction, and it will be more appealing for people to join your team.

Food for thought :)
