We already have a tiny amount of armoured vehicles ingame since we split the driver and gunner into two seats, having a 3rd for commander would mean even fewer vehicles on the field as it would mean only two tanks/APCs per squad, rather than the current 3, vBF2 style it was 6.

The current two is the best compromise between gameplay and realism, as the commander position on its own would kinda suck, as would the driver position on its own and most regard the two combined as the lesser position over the gunner anyways, that's ignoring the bigger issue of player numbers required to operate them mentioned above.
The problem isnt with the game, the problem is with the community who keeps jumping out of the tank to listen instead of staying with the commandr camera...

No. The only armored vehicles with the ability to designate targets for laser guided air-launched ordnance or artillery rounds are specialist fire support team vehicles. Laser rangefinders found in the fire control systems of tanks and other vehicles are not the same thing.

Every officer with his radio can Spot targets but iam, in a sophisticated high tech tank, cant. I think thats not ok. So whats about to add this ability? Maybe you can limit it so a slot..whats about that useless MG gunner slot? give it a "inside view" on 2 and give him the ability to spot targets.

Discuss!
+1

It will help especially when there's no commander available, or he is not cooperative, and should improve communication between squads. It should reduce the amount of times non combat vehicles drive to unmarked enemy positions.

Was curious about the reality of that. Cheers Edd.

NP. Not sure how foreign forces do it, if you're curious about what types the US uses (I won't post here because it's OT) look up M707 Knight (HMMWV), M1200 Armored Knight (variant of ASV) and Bradley and Stryker FIST. They're pretty freaky looking and very distinctive; they would require new models. And they're kind of obscure, so I wouldn't expect them ever to appear in a game outside of a massive simulator actually used by the military.

It would help if squadleaders would use the radio more especially with armor around.
