PR CO-OP settings stuck

Hello all,

My single player co-op settings are stuck, and wouldn't adjust from the menu. No matter how I adjust the bars that control the amount, difficulty, ratio, etc, the game always plays with the same number, ratio, and difficulty of bots.

How can I regain control over the bots?

P.S. Is there a command to disable the MEC AA on Kashan on a single player game?

Try downloading BF2 Bot Changer, It's a neat little program that I use to change the amount of bots and their skills for various BF2 mods.

Battlefield 2 | Files | BF2 SP Bot Changer (2.1) | Single Player | Modifications | Game Front

Select "pr" or "Project Reality" after you've extracted it and launched it. From there, you can set the amount of bots in your game, and find the right difficulty.

The previous suggestion didn't work. I reinstalled PR, but that didn't work.

Also How can I enable Rcon? When I try to edit the file, it says I don't have the right permissions.

Any other Ideals?

go to folder: mods/pr/ai

open file: aidefault (with notepad or something)

find these lines:

rem To override the amount of bots used in PRSP, use the following lines instead of the three lines above.
rem This will render the ingame menu and serversettings.con bot settings not used, as the following lines
rem of code overrides those settings.
rem Just remove the "rem" in front of the lines to make it read by the game, then edit the numbers as needed.

aiSettings.overrideMenuSettings 1
aiSettings.setMaxNBots 47
aiSettings.maxBotsIncludeHumans 0
aiSettings.setBotSkill 0.9

change to:

rem aiSettings.overrideMenuSettings 1
rem aiSettings.setMaxNBots 47
rem aiSettings.maxBotsIncludeHumans 0
rem aiSettings.setBotSkill 0.9

now u will be able to change Co-op settings in-change, amount of bots, ratio per team, etc

You diagnosis is correct, somehow your mods/pr/ai folder have write permissions denied.

Could be because you are not logged into Windows with a user account with Windows Admin prvilieges. SO first, make sure you log in with an account with admin privs.

Steps are slightly different depending on your OS.

Do you have Windows XP, Vista, 7 or 8?

For the entire folder /mods/pr/ai , or try just the file /mods/pr/ai/aidefault

When I first edited the file, it was already remove. Now when remove the rem I get 1 vs 15 bots. If I leave them at default it 9 vs 23.

Is there a way to regain control of the ingame settings?

you are not supposed to remove the "rem"... you are supposed to insert it into those 4 lines I told you....

that's all I did here, and then I had control of the ingame settings....

If it's not working I don't know what else it could be

Ok I put rem on the lines you have told me. I tried to change the lines before (the default ones), but that doesn't work either. Now my game CTD if I play in co-op.
