BF 2 Crashes
I try to start BF2 It goes to a black sceen then back to my desk top. I have reloaded the game steam Punkbusterm patches but still have the same respo0nse. Any suggestions

there is a way to run the game not in fullscreen.... then you get the error message... that would help to know why its crashing... but unfortunately i dont remember how to do it rite now.... hopefuly somebody will help you, good luck

Run PR in a window.
If you don't know how to do it, google that exact phrase. It should show you some kind of error.

Yes, might be wrong refresh rate or resolution in the graphics config file...

So you never get to play the game or get to the menu, I guess?
Sure sounds like a problem with the resolution and/or refresh rate in your video.con file. I take it Steam stores those files in My Documents too?
Try this:
Go to: my documents > battlefield 2 > profiles > 0001. Delete the "Video.con" file. Now restart PR and see if it works for you. If it does, you can set the resolution through the in-game menu.
Btw, notice the 0001 being bold. If you have multiple profiles, you should do this for all.
