Can't get past splash screen

So I did a fresh install of Windows 8 Professional 32-bit, and installed PR today.

The problem I get is that when I start PR it shows the initial splash screen, stays there for 1-2 minutes and that's it. Nothing else happens.

I am running as an administrator and I also tried compatibility for XP SP3 and Win7, but it's still the same.

Specs:
CPU: Intel Pentium D 3.00GHz
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 9600GT
RAM: 3.00 GB



Also, since we're here, what settings do you think I can run PR on with those specs?
I couldn't get past medium on win7.

Try running BF2 first, log in to your profile , close bf2 and try PR again.

Okay, I did that and I managed to get in PR. I started joining a server and after a long time at the loading screen, it crashed.
Also, mumble overlay is gone although I did what it said in the PR and Mumble on Windows 8 topic.

EDIT: About the crashes, I just remembered I had the same problem in win7 and this is how I fixed it:

But I can't get mumble overlay working.

PRMumble overlay doesn't work in windows 8.
