Pacific Theatre
Ok ok, i know the mod is called project "Normandy", but can we expect an expansion in the future? i know all you devs are super busy with everything we have now and the impending release of 1.0, but i think battles like Guadalcanal and iwo jima would be fantastic! i know that would require all new factions and vehicles and what not, but im only asking is it a possibility or can we expect this kind of thing? sorry if a similar thread was posted but a quick search yielded nothing. i know im not the only one would love to fight the Japs in the jungle!

Re: Pacific Theatre
I would like it to be changed to Project WW2 instead of project normandy.
I totaly believe that we will see more maps outside normandy in the future.
Normandy is only a starting point of the entire ww2 in PR, and we might see in the future when they have nothing more to add to normandy they expand to brittish faction, russian faction, japanese.
but I would like to see the expansion after normandy in france.

There are many things coming for the next release, no Pacific yet.
Maybe in the future.

Yeah this could be possible, to have Russian front and Pacific, since we have the tools to do it, but the mod could use more manpower.

Re: Pacific Theatre
We would love to have all these fronts BUT we dont have the man power to actually produce quality assets. There is so much we can do and have access to, but without its standards coming up to PR, whats the point.
Quality>Quantity
Just a thought, if you wanna help out, give one of us a pm

So true CTRifle... can't make those fronts without people making maps for them or assets
Iwo Jima could be great, would love to see someone such as Arc_Shielder working on it, or maybe even Mineral.

Re: Pacific Theatre
I hate Iwo Jima, specially that mountain. Would be a ***** to make that in a map.

Yeah, not to mention it would need to be a static if we want the tunnels and shit. (the mountain)

Re: Pacific Theatre
maybe not make the entire island, just making the dissembark, just like RO2: Rising Storm did, it would be easier, but yes it will lose the atmosphere of being in that island

Re: Pacific Theatre
but it'd lose the natural flow of flags
suribachi, hill 382, turkey knob, 3? airfields
seems like a battle that was meant for aas and larger teams

Re: Pacific Theatre
Well, with a good flag layout, the number of players wouldn't be an issue, as people would need to stick to them.
Seems like this is a good place to take ideas for if we are going to make this, but for now let's just stick to Normandy.

Indeed. I have to say if we had a good nr of mappers then it would be possible to expand to other fronts. If you want to volunteer, then this is the time to step forward.

I don't mind expanding to other theaters, but we need mappers and manpower to achieve such a thing.
I guess the name "Project Normandy" doesn't really fit anymore then though

Re: Pacific Theatre
The pacific theatre is mostly interesting on the naval level, with aircraft carriers etc. The ground combat is rather meh and one sided due to the US being much better equipped.
