I've actually been playing it for 37 hours straight now since it came out... I gave it a chance[R-DEV]AfterDune wrote:Not even two days of open beta (so only a couple of hours of playtime for each of you) and instead of even trying to get used to not having binoculars, people are already looking for ways to "get back to the old".
Give it a proper chance, guys.

Well, keep the spotting to those with zoom optics. If you only have ironsights, you have to gather your information about enemy movement from them.

That's still slightly more than 1 day. Play many more days and then make up your mindFelix wrote:I've actually been playing it for 37 hours straight now since it came out...

I think 12 hours a day for 2 1/2 days is enough to see that infantry combat does not work properly when you cannot see anything. Atleast a zoom "weapon" is needed, if not binoculars.

Dude, you're watching a YOUTUBE video from a HELMET CAMERA and tell me it does hold up to the human eye? Seriously? Not to mention that you can't use your other senses(especially hearing) in order to discern from where you are being engaged. Why do you think there are optics mounted on most standard issue rifles nowadays? According to you they're useless because you don't see your opponent anyways, but you DO(to an extend) unless your opponent has a bush on his back or hides behind aforementioned bush.a3dboy1 wrote:I voted for "NO BLOODY BINOS". Why? Simple.
If you who miss binoculars only knew that in real life SOLDIERS DON'T SEE THEIR ENEMY either. Check video footage on youtube from Marines and you will notice that they basically shoot at the enemy direction.
VTRaptor: but i only stopped for less than 10 secs and that fucking awesome dude put 2 of them

Just_Dave: i have a list about PR players, and they r categorized by their skill

re: [Official] Binoculars Removal Feedback
I actually love the fact that not everyone and your mother has the bino's out when the SL goes: Contact 245, 200m's!
I didnt feel a very big difference. In the old version you wouldnt take out the bino's, centre them on a target, not move the mouse, grab the unscoped rifle and started firing. If I had an unscoped rifle with me I just fired in the general direction and let the scoped rifles deal with it properly. Or watched the flanks/rear of the squad. Thats the same thing I do know that I dont have bino's.
If you cant see the difference between a bush or a target you can call over a budy with a scope or ask the SL to verify.

option 2.
its definitely the right decision to remove them from all kits.

I'd like to see more limited kits have binos. Other than that it's perfect. Lowers engagement ranges somewhat and forces you to rely on the SL more, I like it.

It's not really too early to tell, the poll will stay open for a couple of weeks and I think it doesn't take too long to figure out if it's a good change or not. I have played around 10 hours and I already know being a medic (for my case) without binos is really really really bad.

re: [Official] Binoculars Removal Feedback
a weaker pair that gives the same amount of zoom as an ACOG for kits that lacks scopes would be nice. The kits that lack scopes are handicapped a lot, because they have no means of looking at something better, so the red dots have lost utility.
Since incendiaries were removed, a crewman kit might have comparable to utility to a red dot rifleman, even.

Nayo I can understand your frustration with missing the binoculars. But this change just forces you to rely on your teammates who have the binoculars and your squad leader more. You'll have to tell them to use their binoculars more often than you think. You'll also have to recon by fire more often as well. I like this change more, it makes the sniper more deadly, something that was lacking in previous PR versions.

re: [Official] Binoculars Removal Feedback
Instead of asking their SL most people will go "I see a dude, shit I don't have binoculars to find out if he's friendly or not, better shoot the living fuck out of him". It's already happening. Retards not checking their map, and because they don't have binoculars they just fire away, causing frustration and death for the people they're disrupting.
Some of the PR players are just too stupid to check their map, or talk to their SL for that matter, and it ruins the game play for the rest of us.

I think the binocular must be kept most kits .
It's an very important gameplay feature that we can't get rid of !
I think that it is neccessary for a good tactical slow progression .
Observe before attacking like an idiot . This is what makes the difference with other fps .

lol yes saxoni, option 1....fuk, what would i do without you on these forums, this isn't the first time either.
p.s "Retards" that will shoot without even considering to check map etc will still be "retards" even if they will be given a Hubble telescope.

True, but the amount of teamkilling and -damage will be reduced significantly, which will give everyone a better time.Tit4Tat wrote:"Retards" that will shoot without even considering to check map etc will still be "retards" even if they will be given a Hubble telescope.

the problem I ran into is that I saw people far away... check my map, they werent on the map, so I hit them with 203... and team killed.
Not everyone shows on the map anymore for some reason, same as the name tags i assume?

Best thing to do is learn the Kit geoms, and camouflages to help distinguish foe and friendly. Double check your map to make sure you're not going to blast your friend, and there, no issues.
