Application Error When Starting Game

Post by ZastavnikDzemo161 »

I've managed to update and install the game just fine. However, whenever I go to play it, I get the message: "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005). Click OK to close the application."

I've never had such a problem with Project Reality before and can access the .981 version just fine. I was wondering if this is something specific to me, or if others are having this problem as well. Also, are there any fixes to this problem? I would really like to try out this Beta.

From the little info you have given us, This sounds like an problem specific to your installation.

I suggest
uninstalling PR1.0Beta ,
verifying the integrity of your 1.0Beta download,
reinstalling 1.0Beta , making sure to start the installer as an admin.

I also have this exact problem. What's interesting is that I can start the launcher after I click 'Finish' at the end of the installer, but if I close it by pressing 'Exit' instead of 'Play' and try to start it again I get this message.

This applies to starting both PRLauncher.exe and PRUpdater.exe

EDIT: Actually what I really should say, and just noticed, is that I can actually launch and get into the game fine but only if I use autorun.exe on the iso. Using the shortcut or trying to start PRLauncher.exe and PRUpdater.exe give that error message.

Unfortunately I still can't play because when I try to update the game it gives me error 76. Failed to validate file integrity of PRLauncher.exe.
