Graphical Issue With Logis

ON The Russian Logi, at least, the wheels have been shaded all weird like. When the model's texture where composed, the artist left the shadows under the wheels hub cap/wheel assembly, so when the wheel moves, the shadow moves along just one direction. I can't take picture without the game crashing on me :/

I just an awesome game on Ramiel with normal insurgency. Didnt say this before but I love the new running and moving sounds your player model makes. Sounds very nice!

Recoil and deviation felt good as well. Still have the first few shots scattering but it gets accurate a lot faster. Even took out an insurgent that popped up on a roof on the other side of the street with a burst. The enemies also fired very accurate. Which make finding cover in time a lot more important!

Experienced the C4 needed for cache change for the first time. We sorta bum rushed the cache which was on the other side of the wall. We quickly "secured" it taking casualties left and right. It was very stressfull and we barely got the C4 on before being all destroyed. Insurgents had a lot more time to fight us off then normal. Which is a good change!

Also like the fact that you get calls on the radio/teamchat for a specialist if something like a hideout has been found. Or you see a friendly squad defending the taken cache so the specialist from another squad can deal with it.

Yep, but it gives them more armor, I doubt that any of them would took a bodyarmor and a helmet off off his dead enemy IRL. And besides they can't really use those weapons effectively, in PR they can and it cannot be changed.

I really love almost everything on 1.0

Most sounds are amazing (climbing ladders too quiet imo, the sound of the thunders in BlackGold Ins arent good enough compared to the other sounds and sometimes you dont even realize that you are getting shot at, especially when an enemy AR is shoting you, cracking bullets are too quiet but: gettin shot at by an enemy apc or tank is just stunning!), the effects are even better (mortars, 50cals, area attacks and bombs are so freaky), the recoil and the new deviation feel good (though no deviation is pretty hardcore, it seems like deviation now is limited to movement and deployed mode, better put it to 1-2 seconds deviation when stationary), the maps - especially the BlackGold Layouts are far better than in 0.98, the Kits are perfect (especially the Grenadier, now you can hit something with it) but the gameplay sucks yet (due to rally points and the players that are trolling around, tking people and not communicating).

Same with the performance, i cant believe my computer is too bad to get good fps rates... When i run PR without mumble and join a server with like 50 players its all good, but when i join a full server with mumble enabled i feel like im a piece of shit rubber moving around.

If you could fix these things... just awesome.

I think DEVS should strongly recommend and provide single server rules for all servers.
It will help us to play one sort of Reality

I have yet to play a game from start to finish because it CTDs randomly. Usually mid-game, sometimes later. I've never had this issue before on any settings, I've tried to play the beta with different graphics levels.

Anybody else having this issue?

Hi all & [R-DEV]s,

Just playing through 1.0 and about to go back on it. Just some general feedback I'd like to give:

1.) GPS in vehicles - When was this added and how come? I can kind of understand it for the driver/front passenger only, but when travelling in the back of an open truck, it jarred with the rest of the minimalistic HUD. I don't think navigation ever really became a problem in PR when you orientate yourself with the full map. Is there scope for this feature being removed, or is there a reason for its inclusion that I'm not aware of?

2.) 1st person shot blood splatter - Now, I've never been shot before... but is this effect too excessive? I seem to remember from 0.97 the effect was pretty good. It was effective in forcing you to take cover, but didn't completely blind you like it does now - which doesn't make sense unless you've been shot in the face. Can this be toned down / reverted back to how it was?

3.) 3rd person shot blood splatter - Nice little effect I've noticed, but it's like a massive puff for red dust rather than liquid blood. Can the effect be down-scaled? Does blood 'look' like that when a solider is shot through so many layers of clothing? I'd have thought the effect would be hardly noticeable (except for blood trailers / stained clothing)

4.) Loading Screens - Has PR reverted to the old vanilla loading screen just for the beta whilst the maps are checked for balancing, or have the old white map with asset pages gone for good? I thought they were a superb addition.

I'll be back with more feedback later no doubt, but so far it's look really great guys, thanks!

PS. Where are the servers based? I'm UK and the EU servers have 2x the ping of the US ones?

EU are Germany you should be getting under 70 to them.

GPS from .86 iirc

Blood is beta new, only issue I have it makes it more annoying when you see it so clearly yet it wasn't a hit, makes dodgy hitbox registry REALLY stand out now

.981 had the white map loading screen I assume beta map loading is just quick what they had.

Teamwork was not its best tonight heskey.....

that small C4 have to long plant time it needs to have timer when it will be dropped, because that animation ends and he just holding that small c4 normally and you cant understand did it roped or not? and it need timer when it blow up that you can inform other guys around it.

You can't tell which dot you are on the map, just like in previous versions. Why can't I be a triangle and everyone else a circle? Why do I have to be the same looking circle as everyone else?

Is there some reason behind this? Whatever it is, its stupid.

Just click on yourself when you're in a squad. You'll show up white. This only works in the spawnscreen view though, not when you're just popping up the map.

Helo,in this video I believe that TAs have their sights misaligned or there is an unnecessary deviation, it is possible to be fixed?

Well why can't I just be a triangle then? Weren't you a teardrop shape in BF2.

No - everyone was a circle, but if memory serves me correctly you had a FoV marker pointing your direction of travel ( o< ) - like so.

It's not hard to orientate yourself though. Make your icon white, use your compass and the map.

You can also use zoom in on the map by using your mouse wheel. At the highest zoom level, it centers on you so you should be the center dot.

Of course it'll still be hard to tell if you're in a concentrated group.

I love the new version, only played Ramiel so far but firefights strike me as a lot more 'realistic' as it's not so easy now to tell where the enemy is (and one-shot them), due to various new or increased mechanics.

The lag is annoying, but it's a Beta so it's fine by me, and my PC is getting old.

The sounds are downright excellent as well, congratulations on those.

Still not got used to the weapons though, however they do strike me as feeling a lot more like a gun when you fire them!

I paused playing PR completely around the time Mumble was introduced, at that time I had severe problems to get it working resulting it to be one of the reasons I paused (many other things in personal life). When I arrived back last week I was more than positively surprised how well you've managed to integrate Mumble to PR - this is awesome! I'm loving it.

The animations of the soldiers from running to firing to dying look smooth and good, the awkward 'jumping and arm-waving ragdoll' seems to be gone. :) Everything feels so smooth, that's the word.

The shooting itself has become more accurate, but I'm not sure what to think about this. Sure you hit your targets now, but does this make shooting too easy? The enemy actually drops dead instead of me. :)
After thinking about this for a while I've come to the conclusion that it's a good thing, makes people move much more carefully avoiding stupid risks since they know running won't save them from getting hit now.

I both love and dislike the rallypoints at the same time. On one side they make it easier for your squad to stay together, give your squad more possibilities to do something if the rest of the team is messing everything up, but on the other hand it reduces the need of FOB's and transport vehicles, making them almost useless and in worst cases can make a friendly/enemy squad just spawn behind your/their lines.
I might also like this purely because rallypoints were how we played it earlier. :p

The new squad size seems to bring both positive and negative stuff with it. The positive is how well an organized 8-man squad can inflict damage and firepower.
On negative side I noticed today was how it restricts the amount of squads available for creation, resulting in too little of them it seems. The following story and rant is from my first experience with 1.0, which ended up negative and giving bad feelings:
Me and my friend created a squad, but it seemed like nobody wanted to join so as the match started we continued up to a flag with a mission to defend it. Later 3 people from a clan joined and started demanding that my friend would step down from the SL's position to give it to him, which to my friend politely refused. The defensive marker was still on the flag and those were still the orders.
As the game continued the clan kept complaining how we are "2-man squadding" , demanding the SL's position and insulting both of us, even going as far as giving out racist remarks and even telling an admin blatant lies trying to get rid of him. This is not how PR used to be when I played a few years ago.
The whole time they were focusing on this, completely ignoring the orders from the SL that were to defend the flag (which we surprisingly lost when nobody was defending it). At the very end of the game they teamkilled the SL and sprayed their magazines his dead body. I lost my nerve and killed a few of them.
I'm not giving out any names, but I've never witnessed such inflamed cases in PR before, I remember people being friendly. This really ruined my evening, but luckily the next game we found ourselves on the other team in a squad full of friendly and intelligent players who knew what teamwork was. Saved my evening.
It seems people will always have problems playing a defensive role (personally I love it). Earlier you could create your squad and defend a FOB for example, nobody could complain since they could leave and make their own squad, but now with the restricted amount of squads this seems impossible. "If you're defending you are wasting a squad", is pretty much the message I get.

Just my thoughts.

This 2 mins respawn (1 before give up, and 1 to respawn) is way too long. Seriously, this will kill the fun for me. Waiting 2 minutes is really long in a VIDEO GAME!
