Mumble and Windows 8
Mumble keeps pulling me out of the game and to desktop randomly. This alone is a problem. In addition I lose my HUD completely and cannot even see the kit selection screen. Please post a thread or a sticky for those of us in growing numbers who have windows 8. We need to know how in detail to fix the Alt Tab / mumble issue that makes the HUD disappear, and we need mumble to stop pulling us out of the game randomly. Thank you.

Same here. Luckily I have Win7 and the problem is only limited to constant minimizing of the game to desktop. I swear and hit the keyboard but in 30 seconds I'm back in action
My friend is not so lucky because he's got Win8. Every time he's minimized due to Mumble's whim he has to restart the whole game because the HUD disappears.

The HUD loss issue can be solved by reopening PR after losing your HUD, pressing CTRL-ALT-DELETE, and clicking on Task Manager. That - should - maximize PR with your HUD re-enabled.

i tried launching PR "without mumble" - there's a small arrow for options when you hover over Play which allows you to play without the new mumble ... didn't have any problems with mumble and no fps drops.

My personal solution: reformat your hard-drive(s) and install Windows 7 instead of 8, works like a charm.

What worked for me to crashes was to run the Project Reality with administrator rights.
Right click the icon > Run as administrator.
2,5 hours no mumble crashing at all.
To make this setting permanent, check the "compatibility" tab from the right click properties of the shortcut, and tag the privilege level correctly.
Worth a try

You can't make the same mistake twice, the second time you make it, it's no longer a mistake. It is a choise.

When the HUD disappears follow these steps to bring it back:
- Press ESC and wait for the menu to come up
- When the menu comes up, press CTRL+ALT+DEL
- When the Windows options come up Press ESC or Cancel
- You will be back on the PR Menu, press ESC to go back into the game
- The HUD should be back!

I run Windows 8 and don't have this issue. I wonder what else (updates, configurations) might be different on your systems.

Problems with Alt-Tab disappeared after this:

Seems that AB's overlay causes this. Probably some other softwares' OSD could cause this too...
