Re: FPS Issues
My fps on all high used to drop to 25 at worst; now it goes WAY down to make game unplayable in 1.0v beta.

Re: FPS Issues
The PRLauncher.exe process appears to be consuming 38% of the CPU here.
After further testing, I don't think the problem I've been seeing here is being caused by PRMumble anymore. I'm suspecting the issue is with the PRLauncher process eating up the CPU, which reveals itself particularly when on a busy server in a busy environment, like Ramiel city, where things go rubber-bandy to the point of unplayability.

Re: FPS Issues
Description: I experienced major lag a few minutes ago on a full 100 player server even thou my GPU never used more than ~25% of it's total capacity, less than 1GB of V-RAM, less than 3GBs of RAM while my quad-core CPU used less than ~40% of it's full capacity, the lag was consistent and not about to stop any time soon, my best guess is that the server(s) themselves can't handle the stress or maybe the engine (most likely) is out-of-date, nonetheless it's fun as hell, and I'm not about to quit PR simply because of these minor issues (major for those with older hardware).
Steps to Reproduce: Join a 100 player server and team of your choosing, play and you shall feel it within seconds.
Tested On: v1.0.22.0, 50vs50, Insurgency at Ramiel.

Re: FPS Issues
Turn off V-Sync. I had exactly the same problem a while back ago on 0.98, playing around with nvidia drivers. Tried forcing v-sync with the drivers, which caused exactly what you describe.

Make it consume 0.25% and the game will run great.

Re: FPS Issues
having some major FPS issues here aswell, from what i can tell it only gets bad when mumble opens and/or connects. basically i get in game fine, wait a minute and once that little speaker icon appears in the bottom right corner fps drops down to 2-5. i play PR .98 on all high except textures and AA at 2x. i get on average 30 fps in .98 and 1.0.19. but since 1.0.20 its been totally unplayable, with the exception of black gold which has never been playable on my system
. anywho heres my specs.

Experiencing huge FPS drops as well, all to do with the latest couple of updates and likely mumble related. Any DEV response to this problem? It's making the BETA completely unplayable.

Re: FPS Issues
Camo, check PR:BF2 v1.0 Open Beta Changelog for the most recent PR 1.0 BETA updates...
And you should know that defragging gives harddrive a little turbo...
Boris, you should really get a new graphics card, I even had a 9600 GT (512 MB, and your 256 MB is reeeeally way below what PR needs...
) before my current GTX 570...
You can get a new graphics card that runs PR perfect (should) for already 70 € (IF you are from EU...
) or 80 $...
(Check GTS 450 for example)
Paul, to make awesome Black Gold run for you (high probability), buy an additional 2 GB RAM (so 4 GB all in all at least, but actually get 6 GB so you have 8 GB in total, is common with today's PCs...
and no RAM problem then at all in PR anymore... IF 64-bit Win installed, so you can use more than 3,8 GB...
)
AND a new graphics card, as suggested to Boris already above... or check http://www.pc-erfahrung.de/grafikkarte/ ... liste.html and get sth. near the GTS 450...

Re: FPS Issues
I am also experiencing very low FPS. I dont have a high end system but i could play 0.98 with an average of 30-45 FPS on medium. The first day of beta i had about the same FPS. But since last days its 10-25 on low, which is not playable. Is there a way to turn off mumble to see if that is causing the problem?
You dont call retarded people retards, its bad taste. You call your friends retards when they are acting retarded.

Re: FPS Issues
@Daniel
The problem I'm experiencing here is CPU related, not graphics. I know it's an old card - way overdue for being replaced - but my problem is not a GPU problem. In fact, I'm even able to enable AA on that card and take barely any FPS hit, but have had it turned off lately just for testing. The problem here appears to be being caused by the PRLauncher process.

Re: FPS Issues
I think my FPS problem comes from the default view distance and I can't change it because the option isn't in the launcher. I want to play on 65% because that's what I use on .98 and I get 30-40 FPS.

I really slow down in the black gold town, but most of the guys around me do too, it did go up and down for most of us sometimes unplayable where you get that double animation when scoping in, then it'd be fine for a while.
Core 2 @ 2.3/4MB RAM/GT 9600M
Does anyone get decent playable FPS all the time there?

Re: FPS Issues
With the new version (.25/.26) the Launcher is not taking up more than .5% of the processing power and I'm still getting sizeable FPS drops compared to 0.98.

EDIT: I just noticed the log says I'm running Intel HD 3000. I should be running it all on an NVIDIA GT 525M. Looking into things to make sure it's all set right.
EDT2: The game itself was running on the Intel chip. I'll need to try this out again.
