Stuck in "welcome" screen

So I joined Black Gold and this greeted me http://i.imgur.com/5ZpldbT.jpg
Pressing enter or caps lock didnt bring up anything, I could hear people on mumble who were nearby, but no mumble overlay. I can't type on chat either. I can only enter the menu.

For testing, I joined a different server with Ramiel and same issue.

I'm on Windows 8 64bit. My game is installed on my Win 7 HDD.

It has been reported quite a few times. Unfortunately this is a win8 bug if you alt+tab. So far there is no fix that I know off.

You can prevent it from happening by playing in windowed mode(available in the launcher's settings).

Some people say that alt+tab and then going ctrl+alt+delete and then back into the game fixes it too. Haven't tried that myself.

Ok, I tested this, HUD does disappear if you alt-tab, which kind of sucks.

Ctrl alt Delete does help, if you click on the task manager, it should bring up the game again with HUD back. If not, just repeat.
