Hi, so when I try to launch the game ( I've installed the 0.96, pached to 0.97, and then installed the Open Beta. ) It shows me this error :



What to do ?

Also, before I installed the Beta, I had a problem that in the momment I launch the game ( BF2 and PR ), it showed me a blackscreen and then returned to the desktop.

Help me please !

It appears You have not installed the vanilla BF2 updates successfully.

LITOralis.nMd']I'll post this and I put in bold the most important part. Let your friend read through this and check to see if he installed in the correct order.

Was BF2 installed and working before you installed PR? Was BF2 patched to 1.5 ?
Can you log in to vanilla BF2?
If BF2 was already working, we'll suggest one course of action. (Could be firewall/antivirus/router/installation error/etc)
IF BF2 was just installed NOW so you can play PR, all the parts have to be installed in proper order.
Please read below and make sure you installed BF2 and PR in this order:

Here is the installation guide in tl;dr format:

Install BF2.
Run BF2.
Note the version number on the bottom left corner of the log-in screen. Write it down.
log in or create a user account.
join online game.
adjust your audio and video settings now for convenience.
exit BF2.
Reboot.

(Optionally if you bought it) install Special Forces Addon.
Run BF2.
log in.
join online game.
exit BF2.
Reboot.

install 1.41 FULL PATCH.
Run BF2.
log in.
join online game.
exit BF2.
Reboot.

install 1.5 PATCH.
Run BF2.
log in.
join online game.
exit BF2.
Reboot.

Download and install 0.973 full installer.
Start the PR shortcut on desktop.
log in.
exit PR.

Download and install the PR 0.973 to 0.981 Patch

Start the PR shortcut on desktop.
log in.
join online game.

Download and install the PR 1.0 Beta
(If it CTDs, Edit the PRBF2.exe shortcut as described below.)
Start the PR shortcut on desktop.
log in.

If you crash at the splash screen, or the screen goes black and then crashes to desktop, try to start PR in windowed mode by following the directions below:

Edit your PR shortcut and ( what AfterDune said ) put this in it

Once you get in the game, make sure you adjust your video settings, specifically the resolution and the refresh rate. Click Apply. Exit BF2.

Then continue to install Patch 1.5 per the instructions in the above post.

Have to do a few things to troubleshoot this problem.

First, post your system specs:
1. open PRLauncher
2. Click SUpport button
3. Click Copy to Clipboard button.
4. Paste everything into this thread

First some questions:
1. Does vanilla BF2 online multiplayer work?
2. Are you using a VPN?
3. Are you using a 3G/4G mobile connection?
4. This often occurs if you don't have enough video RAM, if you can lower your Video Settings in PRLauncher->Options-Video->Graphics Settings set them to Medium or Low. Also Make sure the Fullscreen tickbox is still UNITCKED. Click Apply. Run PR and test.
5. You can try creating a new BF2 online account in vanilla BF2, then retrieving the account from Gamespy from inside PRLauncher.

Your 8400 GS only has 256Mb of VRAM, not enough to run PR at anything but a mix of low/medium settings.

Also, you need to update your video card drivers:

Use driverfusion to delete old drivres and install new drivers:

After you reboot, You' need to delete your shader caches for BF2 and PR.

for BF2, it's in Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache , delete all the subfolders with long string names.
for PR, open PRlauncher, go to Support->Utilites->Delete Shader Cache->Click the PERFORM TASK button.

It's also doesn't allow me to launch BF2 with the same black-screen crash.

I don't think you have enough free RAM to start the game.
You can try using a program like Gamebooster,
or search out BlackViper's windows 7 home premium sp1 services information to manually shutdown unneeded windows services.
or buy more RAM.

the PRBF2.exe process can't load coredll into RAM, and when it runs out of RAM it then freezes and crashes.
