That should only work for thermals if you ask me. In fact it should be like that with thermals. Since FLIR can look much further than with normal scopes and zoom.Antol.PL wrote:made my day

Re: Project Reality Screenshots
Afaik edits such as view distance increases could be made without people being kicked in 0.98 because of anders sound mod being used on many servers and in order to allow for 2 different sets of files the kicking had to stop for mismatched files. (If differences are too drastic you will crash anyway iirc)
Now with 1.0 there are no "side mods" so the servers should be checking for mismatched files..... i think.
Also noticed with my SP/Coop edits to the client and serverarchives.con the launcher pointed out that my files were mismatched and when I tried to join an un-passworded server I was prevented from doing so saying that I can only join passworded servers.

Now, if he's using that in an online game shouldn't he be banned? Isn't that equal to no fog hacks? Or am I the only one here who thinks it's "a bit" unfair to have 6km viewdistance.Lugi wrote:I beg to differ

It looks like he is playing it on his own server as there is no one on the minimap.viirusiiseli wrote:Now, if he's using that in an online game shouldn't he be banned? Isn't that equal to no fog hacks? Or am I the only one here who thinks it's "a bit" unfair to have 6km viewdistance.

This is what he said earlier in the thread.Lugi wrote:I was playing with PR view distance settings a few years ago. I dont remember posting it so here it is.
This works on public servers and I never got kicked by punkbuster.
The distance to the hill is about 5 km, definitely more than "hardcoded" 3 km.

It's just not about playing the game as it's supposed to be played, it's blatant advantage caused by modifying the game e.g. hacking.Kovanaama wrote:I agree with viiru. Just leave the files alone and play the game like its meant to play.
Talking about hacking... That stryker. Honourable mentions for Stemplus' driving.
