New Monitor
So, I bought a monitor for my current rig, and I don't know if I really think I'm using the full power of my rig at 1920x1080. Any recommendations for a new monitor that offers a native resolution higher than 1920x1080?

Re: New Monitor
you should look at 120Hz refresh rates before you go for a 1440p monitor,
depending on what types of games you play, 120Hz has real advantages over the extra real estate.

Hiya,
The ghosting on my cheapo Acer monitors is driving me nuts in Planetside 2. (Un)Luckily a office monitor burnt out, so going to give my Acers to the office and buy a single 120hz to replace it.
Decided I'll upgrade to the 120hz (or 144hz) monitor, i.e. marketed as 3D monitor, and use it in 2d mode and enable LightBoost.
Currently this Asus is the cheapest one that has good reviews.
ASUS VG248QE
And this BenQ is close behind:
BenQ RL2455HM
Anyone who owns a 120hz+ monitor can speak up on here and mention pros and cons to your specific monitor.
Reading online it seems the pro LoL guys have more experience than anyone on using these 120hz monitors for gaming, so as you are the only pro LoL gamers I know, I come looking for help.
Thanks.

Hey Litoralis, how long ago exactly did "Hiya" post that? Just wanna be sure Price gets the most up-to-date / recent products to see aswell (maybe there are some new, "cheap" and good 120 Hz screens out there for just a few months...
)

Re: New Monitor
What are the real advantages if I'm already getting 60+ fps in all of my games? The game seems smooth enough at 60 Hz, but I've never seen 120 Hz, so I guess I can't know. The advantages of 1440p are obvious. Maybe not all games have their textures scaled to that size, but it'll make them all look great.

I've currently got a 27" and a 22", so probably looking for a 27" or greater.
Here's my current rig:

Dan, that was my post on another forum, I think it was from early May 2013.Daniel wrote:Hey Litoralis, how long ago exactly did "Hiya" post that? There were several new 120Hz monitors announced at the consumer electronics shows since then, but I don't think they are on the store shelves yet.
Priceline, I can't add much besides the professional video gamers have almost all switched from their trusted CRTs to the new LCD LED 120+Hz monitors due to the crispness, and lack of ghosting.

If you have the coin, I can't recommend the Dell U3011 (30", 2560x1600) highly enough. Don't know how I would live without it.

Re: New Monitor
Yeah, that's a bit more than I'm willing to spend. Probably $600 at the most.
