Re: Last Day of Beta
You know, they could release server files to community funded servers and just let us play till full release comes along, I understand they dont really need further feedback, but there surely is a way to let us play that wont have any drawbacks for the dev team.

This won't happen until there will be an updater for servers.

Time to give up and respawn.

Played everyday on all EU servers.
The game is a major step forward (except maybe for delayed give-up timer
) compared to previous versions. The gameplay on beta-servers?MEH. More than half of squads locked on 4+ players, leaving lots of lonewolfs, assets: not to mention; communication, it was, not as much as on .981 servers, but it was.
With rules that were in place on .98 servers, this game will be really enjoyable.
Now, time to wait.

Well I just had a game (US test #1) in which squads communicated with eachother and had people supplying my squad ammo with transport truck and gradually pushed RusFed all the way to tunnel on Black Gold infantry layer.Pyrohair wrote:+1. The Beta servers are pretty garbage. Its like playing Vanilla again. 0 teamwork and 0 cooperation. And with the "first come, first served" rule for assets, you can't reliably get an asset and you're stuck having things stolen from you. Once real admins get control the gameplay will increase.
And before that it was Ramiel AAS in which coordinated technical(with Dshk) strikes/camps brought down many blackhawk(black hawk down - never gets old) and LB.
It is all decided by when/where you play 1.0 beta.
What is wrong with delayed give-up timer?pr|Zer0 wrote:Played everyday on all EU servers.

There is NO POINT in giving up before you are ready to spawn.

I have to say, this last week of PR has been the most enjoyable I've had in years. This new version is, in my opinion, the perfect balance between accessibility and ArmA style combat. Plus mumble is great, I've never seen so many people use the mic and actually work together in a non (teamwork) orientated server.
The over all immersion is outstanding, the deviation is good, the sounds are perfect. etc etc.
100 player servers make the difference too, sure you're not seeing company on company engagements, but still having those extra 40 people makes things a lot more hectic. Its great to see.

The sounds are extremely amazing, must say, blew up a car as a tank gunner and hearing those new sounds from the debris hitting the tank, amazing.

Re: Last Day of Beta
Look guys, the BETA has been a great success and obviously some people may have suffered with a drop in teamwork due to larger servers, new players and new features (new features = less teamwork as people want to try out all the new stuff.) However, you must remember the BETA is there to test the features and servers, not teamwork or how well the team gels together - this must be remembered and therefore the teamwork levels within this past week of the BETA should not be judged as the level of teamwork that will occur under the full release.

My magic ball is telling me its gonna be another month MINIMUM and with very good luck before 1.0 comes out. Shame, no chance in hell ill touch .98 meanwhile. I cant believe its a server hosting costs money issue, Id be willing to bet that you'd be able to find people to host 100p servers for you...

Someone... Please hold my hand.. Im gonna cry
I love PR 1.0 beta. How dare you say no teamwork? You can always make some, for example there is few full together working squads together, so even with no squad you can stick with them and help them out. In my oppinion beta had tons of teamwork even with vehicles. I hope to see so good games again soon :/ Im happy about how far PR went. Luv ya <3

Do you have a source for this?
I'm not talking about the beta. It's fantastic but the teamwork was not up to par. Not the mods part, just an influx of new players. From what I have seen in 30+ games and I have videos to back it up. Medics wandering off, squad leaders not talking, arguing, name-calling in mumble, squads moving off not defending flags, squads scattered all over, vehicles left in the middle of nowhere, fighting/tk'ing/grenades in main over CAS/TANK/APC. That isn't PR teamwork even by 0.98 standards. And the racist comments about ARF faction, worse than the anti-semitic stuff in 0.98.
Best moments of the game was having 2 DEV's in our squad. Mature, friendly and teamplayers. It had the effect of almost everyone on the server on their best behavior. Epic.

Re: Last Day of Beta
I saw many and many new players in Beta and what do youexpect from a new players? Before Beta 0.98 was played by experienced players mostly, every new release had that lack of teamwork as you say.DDS wrote:I'm not talking about the beta. Typical case of typing before thinking. If you give up the moment you get shot, you have a 60s spawn timer. With the new feature you can't give up for 60s but after that you can just spawn in with a delay of 5s. So yeh, there is absolutely NO POINT in giving up before the dead time expires.Tit4Tat wrote:Of course there is, when you get steamrolled and get killed with 1 ticket left.....guess what i'm pressing.

Sorry folks, but this thread went down the drain way too fast and way too hard.
