I can confirm, I was once a high-voiced kid (even though i was 17...). Had some of the best times of my life (in video game terms) playing with a group of players who were all top quality and knew how to roll the game (yall know who you are if you reading this).
One thing - just dont be scared.
Its very easy in this game, in fact its the only game thats ever done it to me, but you can easily get stressed out. If youve had a shitty day, and you get into a server with intense gunfire and synchronised squad movements, being thrust upon the responsibility of a HAT kit, or a grenadier etc can be incredibly overwhelming, as you dont want to let the squad down by being a noob.
I try and be medic whenever possible, love that shit. Important yet down to earth, no tricky knowledge of deviation/distancing needed. Although might be easier in the next version without the harsh deviation.

A squad with everyone on a mic will always be more effective than one with somebody without. He cant shout out targets on the move, or lay down supressing fire whilst telling his squadmates. Try crossing a road with your squad, spotting a group of enemies aiming at your Squadmate, so you lay down supressing fire and your squads just like hey what are you shooting at and BAM you v that enemy squad, you lose.

An effective squad shouldn't have its members wondering around alone anyway and with the the larger squad sizes it should be even less of an issue.
You cant expect an SL to have complete command of everything, whilst he is in command of the order of attack, rules of engagement and general running of the squad, he is not in command of each individual soldier. He needs each and every one of the squad to be able to be an independent and self-sufficient trooper.
Trooper909 wrote:Got to admit though its very easy to assume the micless guy(not silent because I type) Is a newbie though.
Never know you could kick me and get a guy with a mic you have to babysit and is a liability the whole round because hes new or stupid
However, if you have to babysit that guy, likelyhood is your going to build up a relationship with him (not in a sexual way), and so be more likely to play with said player in future and so be able to build up a trust and know how each other play.
Its why the same people always play in a group - watch Bluedrakes videos on youtube, its always a core group of players, and the squads of a similar veign are always the same, even outside Clans you can see players play together. Same as I used to play with a group.
You just cant build up that level of trust through text. No matter how much you wish you could.

You might do, but in a game where you have 3 minutes to squad up at the beginning of a round you will always try and cherry pick the best possible division. If a mic-less player joins, the SL knows his job just got harder regardless of if the person is a good player.
Its like a book store, you judge the book by its cover because that's all you can do in 3 minutes, you may miss the best book on the market because its got a blank front cover, and then get a shitty book with dragons and stuff on the front.
If you join mid-round and join squads your probably more likely to stay, but micless players always come across untrustworthy and im always waiting for them to grab the sniper kit and leave the squad. Damn hate those *******.
