Players need to adjust in time and frankly I think the 1.0 behavior was quite good considering the lack of dedicated admins.

There were massive amounts of teamkills when there was a cache in the tunnels on Black Gold. Grenades everywhere. :D

I saw a lot of racism but other than that it wasn't horrible considering it was basically the wild west as far as rules were concerned.

Overall I feel the majority of players (almost everyone without exception, that I saw) behaved admirably throughout the beta.

I only saw the odd teamkill, most of which were apologised for, and accidental.

Fortunately, I didn't see any 'casual racism' or "banter" as some people like to call it - but I'd like to take this opportunity to remind players, both young and old, that these are changing times. The internet used to be our little corner where we could say what we like without retribution in the real world. Over the last 7 years certainly, the internet has become far more accessible with the use of social media and mobile phones, and legislation is finally adapting to cover activity on the internet that would be deemed as "criminal" in the real world.

So if you are a casual user of homophobic or racist remarks, the kind where everyone knows that you're joking; it is an offence, and you leave yourself wide open for prosecution for saying things of that nature, even in jest.

Let's get with the times guys and grow up. The things that were "acceptable"/tolerable 2 years ago, cannot be tolerated now.

It was pretty bad overall.

What bugged me the most was admins not doing anything when stuff like that was reported.

The kind of racism that was shown isn't "real" racism. They're just trying to be funny. I'm not saying that I defend those people, I'm just saying that the majority of them don't really hate black people. This will also stop when people get used to playing for or against the ARF.

I've been seeing this racist attitude on US servers LONG before 1.0 beta was released. It's very offensive and has caused me to Alt+F4 on several occasions. You can only report someone so many times, and whats the point if you're just being ignored :(

And now, we wait.....

Most servers have many rules for a reason which for the most part have to be enforced to keep players coming back. If the beta continued more days the administration would have had to step up.

The one thing that is a HUGE plus in 1.0 beta is that mumble is muted during map change and start up (THANK YOU DEV'S). That environment was a cess pool of racism and homophobic comments and really immature behavior. Our only option was to tab out and mute the offenders. Mumble admins were asleep at the wheel on that one.

Tactical Gamer was an Excellent Server. Yeah that's right, I said that, go a head and BAN ME from your server now!

You've got a point but there was also a lot of LOLs during map change.

I will miss it.

Well yeah very true, a little smack is good for fun. Just wish there was more policing of those that abused it.

The majority of people is disgusting. And where better than the internet to express that low state of intelligence?

So, even in "mature communities" we'll get that, admins on the server or not. That said, I don't see this community as particularly mature anymore, given it's quite varied these days.

It's unfortunate and only because there is an environment for it to exist. It's the what the majority of the community wants until someone offers a better place to play.

Some ppl treat the 1.0 seriously while some others dont.
Some just wanna try and some others just wanna kill.
So driven by some selfish thought, few ppl starting to tk others. WAR begins.
but admins cant do anything about it, coz they cant know what is really going on so fast. even there is rule.
There is nothing we can do about those behaviors, only thing we can do is to expect ppl like a real gentlemen and be kind.

Racist, i am okay with jokes, actually racist jokes are funny to me. but dont do that too much.
Personaly, i love ppl in PR. wherever he comes, what race he is. we can always have fun together.

To the people who are still saying, "Oh, it's just the internet" - The internet is now joining the real world in terms of prosecution. Joking or not, such comments are racist. You can be prosecuted for saying it:

Kent youth PCC Paris Brown investigated over tweets

Woolwich attack: Online posts over Lee Rigby killing spark charges

Two men arrested over internet Old Firm 'hate comments'

Tom Daley Twitter abuse: Boy arrested in Weymouth

Robin Hood Airport tweet bomb joke man wins case

US Facebook death threats troll: Reece Elliott jailed
Locked
