PR is scaled down warfare., according to the tickets and 100p its pretty much 500v500 men fighting, just not at the same time. That point of yours is wrong therefore.

What are the differences ? Well they are pretty similar, just
spotter kit is better, since it have few more patches, optics on rifle,
and radio station (?) if I remember correctly,so what purpose
Russian specialist kit now have, even shotgun got removed ?
Specialist have a C4, spotter doesn't.
PR have a military advisers for both Russia and US so it's pointless to argue about it. I think they did a great job on those factions.

"Limited use?" I wouldn't call 6 years in line infantry units as a DMR "limited use." Somebody needs to update that article.

"Regular army" doesn't equip based on what you think it needs.
Sgt. Robert Montanaro, from 3rd Light Armored Reconnaissance Battalion, readjusts his sights on a Mark-12 designated marksman rifle during a live-fire exercise at Sahl Sinjar, Iraq, April 27, 2009. Montanaro says he likes the addition of the suppressor, because of its ability to make shooters stealthier.

Now, I know what you're going to say, "Reconnaissance." This is not Division or Force Recon. They are regular infantry Marines who drive and ride in the backs of these:

No, they're not giving them to crewmen in game. This guy is probably one of the dismount scouts.

Scout-Snipers, found in every USMC infantry battalion and not considered special operations forces, get issued suppressors not only for their M110s and M40A5s, but also for their M4s (see below).

http://media.dma.mil/2013/Mar/07/200001 ... 95-001.JPG

No, they're not giving them the latter of those, in game, either.

To summarize, every time some faction gets a cool toy in game, no matter how realistic, someone is going to complain that the DEVs are biased toward that faction.
007.SirBond wrote:I am not in the USMC but I am under the impression their SDMR only used Mark 11 which replaced some newer variant of the M14.
None of those has ever been issued as a company/platoon/squad level DMR in USMC line infantry. Only the SAM-R (East Coast units; II MEF), the M16A4 with a Harris bipod (West Coast; I MEF) and the Mk-12, which replaced both starting in 2007.

The M14 Designated Marksman's Rifle (depicted in ARMA2) has been phased out of service by the M39 EMR (another M14 variant). They are/were used by Scout-Snipers, Marine Corps Security Forces designated marksmen (including FAST Company), Embassy Security Group Detachment designated marksmen and Military Police Special Response Team Marksman/Obervers.

The M110 has replaced the Mk-11 (from which it is derived; M110 is used in USSOCOM under the designation Mk-11, Mod 2), which was acquired as another tool in the box for Scout-Snipers for a few years starting around '05, IIRC. It will also likely be replacing the M39s in the above units, eventually, but you can still see some of them serving side-by-side with the M110.

Not going to go searching for pictures, but I know for a fact regular British snipers widely use suppressors. Probably in order to prevent ears getting blown off I would imagine.

Well I guess I was wrong, my information about suppressor usage in the military came from a friend of mine who served in Afghanistan during the Canadian deployments. I guess Americans can afford to use suppressors at a regular army squad level.

And yes, I do think PR is biased towards Americans. They are played as a faction in 10 out of 30 available maps so far. PR has 16 different countries.

I understand 6 are Allies and would unlikely fight each other, but America, either the Army or USMC are used too much overall on the maps. I want to use another weapon other than a AR variant! I get tired of it, because Canada uses a variant of it as well! Can the Germans get more love please?

Yeah the Germans!!1 ;)

There are many Russian and MEC Maps aswell, but more variety but be nice. Its sad that there is not really a Bluefor vs Bluefor Map, its not realistic for sure but it would be something different.

US has been in PR the longest. Probably has something to do with it too ;) . So the US has always been the most complete faction in PR. And if you think reasonably, not every faction can be put against the other one.

And just like the Russians are easy to use as opfor (in pretty much any game) same counts for US to be a easy pick for blufor.

If PR has any biased towards anything it's the British faction, cause if I remember correctly this was the starting point of the mod. Obviously now they are focusing on so much more then just one faction. The PR team has limited resources, and every faction has had an upgrade for 1.0 . The entire game has. Because you only saw the PLA,RUS,US and GB in the beta, doesn't mean the others didn't get any love. And nobody is stopping you from mapping yourself with another faction then US :D

Guys feel free to get some love happening to your favorite factions.
No one is stopping you from making new maps or anything for that matter.

If the Mk-12 with suppressor were used exclusively by special operations I would not have advised it for PR. I have a problem with the H-6 still being in the game. But the thing is, the weapon is purchased with all of its accessories from the manufacturer, including the suppressor. IIRC, the only things that differ between USMC and USSOCOM versions is their choice of optics.

Well, if that's the way you feel, then I would advise you to take one of the following courses of action.

1. Get to work.

Because this model isn't going to make itself.

Or . . .

2. Get to work.

Because this river isn't going to cry itself.

Weapons should be louder. Especially assault rifles sound really silent when compared to the other sounds.

One thing that needs to improve in mumble. When you talk in local and in squad chat, it should lower the sound of loud vehicles like helicopters and jets so that it's easier to hear what the other person is saying, or automatically increase the voices of players who are in a firefight involving vehicles so that people can hear each other.

That can be a feature automatically enabled, and can be disabled by alt-tabbing and right-clicking on PR Mumble on the Icon Bar at the Bottom-Right and then clicking configure, then enable 'Lower game sounds when a user is talking', and the level of the sound being lowered in all can be adjusted.

Bad ideal, and you have to turn them down anyway to almost off to still hear when in vehicles, the sound is at least 50% of the enjoyment in the game for me.
